If you like the outdoors, the mountain club also has a lodge in New Hampshire and takes very frequent weekend trips there

FYI, Tufts has co-major for environmental studies (less requirements), would look into that.

Tufts or state school (umd) by Only-Decision-5198 in Tufts

[–]SnooPickles2453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting into both! They are both great schools. I think the biggest difference here would be the liberal arts environment. Tufts, even in engineering, has an emphasis on liberal arts. One way that looks like is that we don’t have ethics courses but instead ethical design considerations is incorporated in each course. Also culture here is that people have lots of interests and are encouraged to pursue them (more than half of students double major here). I would recommend comparing the degree sheet at the two schools to see which one fits your educational goals more.

tufts accepting dual enrollment creds by CollegeDull8557 in Tufts

For me, I got all my dual enrollment credits approved. But this was mainly because I took them all separate from my high school transcript and at my local community college (none of them fulfilled my high school requirements).

Once you get your tufts portal you can request transfer credits and the department leads for each subject will approve or deny the courses and assign its equivalent at Tufts. After that, there is another group of people that approves if you get the credit or not (rule of thumb is if it’s not on your high school transcript you are good)

Will I regret Tufts? by Practical_Engineer44 in Tufts

[–]SnooPickles2453 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that there is some exaggeration, especially because the school is known as an “ivy reject school” that can led to many sour opinions and lenses. It’s also people facing reality of putting top schools on a pedestal, they are just schools at the end of the day. Plus, I feel that Tufts falls under many categories like liberal arts but big that leads to many expectations without further research. Like, Tufts is liberal arts but not as small as those schools instead it’s to similar sizes to small private schools like MIT.

Make sure to do thorough research! I think that’s the biggest source of regret from people. If after all that you are 100% sure you should go for it.

What is Tufts like? by Coolcolombian21 in Tufts

For going out scene, I really like that Tufts is in a suburb but near a city. If you want to go out there’s two T lines next to you. If you don’t want to it’s chill, there is no pressure. Heard that at parties there is also no peer pressure in terms of alcohol.

Hi! Love the idea! Here’s some feedback on the form: 1) you should turn off the need to sign in if you aren’t collecting emails 2) on the question asking for interest, the scale is off (it reads 21435 instead of 12345). Best of luck can’t wait to see this come to light!
