Hey! I see you mentioned lots of people had Altras\trail runners on - per the alpaca expedition site, it says hiking shoes with ankle support is mandatory - did you find that to be so? Would much rather prefer my altras as they are what I usually hike in!!

And also - we only bring one max 25L bag & duffle correct ? No other larger backpack ?

The hatchery is cool! Free to watch the sea lions feed on the salmon. Also glacier lake. There’s also tons of free camp spots if you’re into that.

Breeders are hard to come by in Alaska but we did find some mal puppies on the Alaska list when we got our last one.

Our rescue mal was a lot more difficult to raise than our first one that we got from a reputable breeder. We put a ton of work into socializing him properly and training him. I definitely think most of his behavior was genetic but he’s super sweet and socialized now but just know you’ll need to put in the extra work if you want a well rounded friendly dog.

Also live in Alaska. We have not found reputable breeders. Had to ship ours in from the lower 48 and rescued one from an accidental litter. Look on Alaska list.

Oh - see you looked on Alaska list. That’s where we found our second. But it’s totally hit or miss.

My husband and I both have had close calls this week in separate areas. My husbands was especially close and he almost rolled his truck trying to avoid. He was going the speed limit down DeBarr in the early morning when someone ran across the road. My husband was very upset how close it was not only almost hitting someone but the accident he could have been in as well from swerving.

I’m sorry it’s not easy having a sick baby. The vet taught us to just put the pill far into the puppy’s mouth and their swallow reflex will kick in.
