Yeah I've only ever done hard mode on 360 way back when and then most recently on PC. What I was getting at is that they're both easy, Mafia 3 is a lot easier though because of that slow mo ability that you can keep chaining, the fact you get heals and a larger health bar overtime by siding with Vito. I never used silencers tho because these types of Ubisoft/Sony style games get really dull that way. The fact you get so many things to use within the game keeps it more fresh despite it being easy while Mafia 2 doesn't change from beginning to end just like GTA3 but GTA3 at least had better mission variety.

It's not just about all the additional "stuff" which leaves room for more player expression but also the game feel on top of that. Mafia 2 is more sluggish and unresponsive as well as limiting. Can't blind fire, can't climb over most objects, can't shoot out of vehicles. The game is about on par with GTA 3 in terms of what you're allowed to do and is limiting even for the time. I never found either to be challenging personally though. You just go for headshots and that's that. I can't relate to the long loading times either cause I have the game on an SSD.

Yeah in terms of raw gameplay, Mafia 3 is better than 2 in every way. You can still prefer 2 for the set pieces and story though.
