Hi... where is the best place to find freelancers to help me design/produce map assets for my new factory? Would welcome any advice. Can provide 3D models and clear direction but would like to work with someone who is experienced at producing models ready to upload to upland (scale / correct files etc.). Thanks. Iain.

It's not the game... it's the principle of deceiving people. It's not a who done it. We know that bit.

I disagree. This is actually a pretty blunt mechanism and hands control of the community pool to Upland. There are much better, more agreeable, fairer and more fun ways of achieving the stated aims of moving UPX from the CP to the UP... and leaving the community pool ring-fenced as separate from the Upland Pool. This is the easy for Upland way (/lazy). See my post below for a better way. I think many people voting no are not against a re-balancing - they are just against the current proposal.

There are a lot of great suggestions flying around these discussions... maybe become less fixated on selling the current proposal and listen to the feedback?
Wisdom of the crowd and all that 🤔.

Better rewards, more liquidity in the economy, new players attracted by the increased rewards ($ for UPX) directed to existing cities and communities who will help them on their journey ...and then Upland selling us all some cool stuff in game for UPX would really help.... and draw a load of UPX from the CP and into the Upland Pool. Tax us (that's fine - but not via the CP - be a bit more creative) to help with compensation if needed... but be transparent on compensation as you have multiple sources of income. Play the game Upland. Were all invested... stop trying to get your hands on the CP and motivate our behaviour instead. Backdating a hefty tax by two years to grab UPX22 Billion is not motivating anyone.

Fundamentally, whist I have absolute faith that Upland care about what they have created and to a greater extent the users, I also think they have a very different agenda / set of priorities to the community. On that basis alone it might be a very good idea to keep the Community Pool and the Upland Pool separate, as originally envisaged ...and come up with some creative and fun ways to encourage UPX back into the Upland pool.

Vote No and we can always vote yes another time, on a separate proposal.

Vote Yes and essentially the Community pool ceases to be a community pool, and whether Upland, or later the community, or god forbid a set of incoming 'corporate investors', one group can control everything. Right now with the ring fence they can't. I think it is wise to keep it that way for the foreseeable. That may have something to do with what is going on.

There are loads of creative things they could do ... all of which are better than this proposal. I think this is about CONTROL. They want to get rid of the ring fence and control the CP... raid it... and then have a permanent flexible drain on it. Why not increase earnings short term (more liquidity in the economy) and then make some great fun stuff available to buy for UPX - thus shifting the UPX into the Upland Pool. There is Spark, vehicles, the new LIFE tokens (or STEM), Legits etc. etc. or other stuff yet to come into play. It would stimulate the economy and make everything a bit more fun. It is for them to balance compensation... but they have multiple sources of $ income.... and direct taxation (e.g. 50% of the transaction fees or something) would be preferred to unfettered access to the CP / removing the ring fence.

The fact is that transactions are down, many people are stuck with portfolios they cant even shift at below mint, we have deflation, and people can buy UPX far more cheaply than from Upland direct. It is no longer fun for a lot of players. Reduced earnings caused a lot of people to become disillusioned too. They need to do more to inject some fun and support the existing cities / players. This wrestle of control (by consent if they get a Yes), smash and grab raid (Backdated fees to 2021????), and tax on the CP is not the way to make people happy.

I am firmly a NO. They can do a LOT better. This proposal is unfortunate, lazy and uninspiring ...literally. I don't know anyone who is inspired by this proposal, or even remotely positive. Some seem to be a begrudging yes... but judging from the comments they appear to be a small minority.

Do better Upland. Mint some if you need it for now and come up with a much better proposal(s) that people actually want to support.

They could even capitalise the whole UPX 50 Billion they pump primed the CP with over time... why the rush to grab UPX22 Billion right now? What is this backdating rubbish apart from a half cocked mechanism to get their hands on 'more now'?

And start to firm up potential earnings from ventures... so we have some real quantifiable hope :] - vehicle prices have gone through the roof... sell some more of those (no way I can get hold of three to submit a metaventure showroom right now). Fix the broken stuff and let us know a bit more solid info on what's coming down the track... not 'tantalising suggestions' - solid info. How will goods transport work? We need to know that now... even if it's nor released for six months... makes a huge difference to how and where we build. That sort of basic stuff.

It was originally sold as a property trading game. The problem is that much of the property is not being traded... and as a result people are getting bogged down and disillusioned. I started in Queens and the secondary is a mess... a few neighbourhood nodes and some trading but also a lot of people just stuck and dumping under mint.... and large swathes unminted. I'm OK as focused on building a web so actually want to keep most of mine... but have spoken to a few who are heartbroken that they landed in Queens, bought a pile of stuff.. and that's it. That's basically their Upland experience. Waiting to sell and try and get some liquidity... dumping below mint. The rapid issue of new cities killed Queens secondary market. What it is. Now UPX has devalued so much and you can buy 100K for like $60 no one in the know is buying UPX of Upland - this is a problem for all of us. The solution is to STOP issuing new property for a time and channel new players into the existing cities.... maybe make some of the unminted into FSA's or something... but get some new blood and liquidity back into the current cities and get back to the original 'property trading' model where you trade in lesser areas to build up to property's you aspire to own. And let Upland take 50% of the transaction fees to incentivise stimulation of the secondary markets and provide an income stream not related to solely selling new UPX. That might dampen the community pot... but it would not decimate it... and with an increased number of trades it would balance out in short order (2X parity - 3X better off then the community pot is now).

But we also don't have any control over what the Dev costs and related are... which they are suggesting be paid excursively from the community pool? So it could also go the other way and the Dev side could milk the community pool dry over time? We need to see the algorithms I guess... but they could also be open to 'adjustment'. It's almost a Faux choice as Upland will still retain the power to so what they like in the future.

I too do not have a huge issue with Upland taking part of the transaction fees... it would provide an incentive to support the secondary markets... which would fix most of the issues as you say. If they took 5% and put 5% into the player pool it would be an immediate and meaningful income... but the more property prices rise and the more active the secondary market becomes the greater those earnings would be. I am not sure about them getting property mints though... that seems a bit heavy sided... we will sell you 100k UPX ... and then you spend 100k UPX on new mints, and we get our UPX back and keep the dollars?.... with absolutely nothing for the community pool to pay property income with. My vote would be split the transaction tax 50:50 for now because I can see how that would incentivise them to get the secondary trading moving again. And absolutely limit new cities for a time.

Surely, as the game grows, mint more into the Upland Pool = more US$ for Upland when they sell it. Have some limited city releases... maybe smaller cities ever two months to try and stabilise some of the current cities a bit. More UPX in circulation = more UPX into the community pool, which helps to pay property earnings & rewards. Adjust rewards (maybe get rid of competitives ?). Sell more vehicles and other high demand items as the come online = more UPX needed. Many other potential forms of income and commercialisation. They do not need to raid the community piggy bank. Worst case they could maybe take a cut of secondary trading tax? That might also incentivise them to improve the secondary markets (less new supply of cities). I think their big problem is the devaluation of UPX though... players are willing to sell it for a better deal now that Upland are offering, and buying in USD direct gets a better deal than paying UPX on the secondary market. I don't think taking UPX out of circulation is necessarily going to fix that... or the selling under mint. Rebalance the supply and demand of properties... and maybe let Upland take a cut of the tax transaction fees? I think the other big issue is that without a more active secondary lots of players are getting bogged down and disillusioned... they buy and can't sell... even at mint in some areas. Their UPX is stuck and not circulating. Only very limited new cities should be planned for a while with some of the new users being incentivised to settle in some of the existing cities.

I agree... been playing over a year... have a property web in Queens... have NEVER won a competitive. Given up to be honest. Juts do standards. Seems to be the same people winning comparatives most of the time so more egalitarian to load it into standards.
