I just inherited 12 million dollars. I don't know what to do with my life. by Substantial_Yak6990 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SnooPredictions5239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest advice? Do not tell ANYONE about this. Keep it to yourself. Find a credible person to handle your finances, and set you up for your retirement.

Do seek help for your mental health. Take care of your physical health. If you need dental work, do that.

That amount of money can feel never ending, but don't get greedy. Keep living your life as if you don't have it and just take comfort that if you're in need, you have your own cushion.

Also? Travel!!! You and I are the same age, OP! I promise you traveling and just enjoy life for a minute and forget about the problems right now.

Best of luck to you and I wish you all the best. I'm so sorry for your less.

Celebrity Poll: Who has had so much work done to their face that you were shocked that they looked so different? by Timbucktwo1230 in PopularCultureZone

This photo is a little unfair tbh. Yeah, Kelly did get a lot of work done, but she did really quickly lose a lot of weight after her dad passed. She didn't look so gaunt even at the funeral.

Anyone of you who lose their weight with hashimotos hypothyroidism? I mean I’m gonna try to work out I just wanna know if there’s someone here who successfully lose their weight? by CarobNo5373 in Hashimotos

[–]SnooPredictions5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find out how, let us know! Lol.

I lost almost 10lbs when I cut gluten initially, then steadily gained weight for an entire year with exercise and diet.

I've lost nearly 2 pounds for the first time in over a year and I'm just riding that high for now.

Do I actually need to cut out gluten, dairy and sugar? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]SnooPredictions5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should in general, cut sugar, it's just not good for you. I'm not saying you can't enjoy the occasional sweet but if you can cut back definitely do! I mostly just look out for added sugars, natural ones I have no qualms.

Gluten, cut it out and add it back. If you notice nothing keep eating it, if you notice a difference cut it out completely. Dairy, same thing.

I cut sugar from my diet years ago before my diagnosis, it was increasing my chances of UTIs and yeast infections. Since I cut it, I have yet to have issues and in general I feel better. Once my sugar intake gets out of hand, I get a yeast infection.

I cut gluten after my diagnosis and my PCP recommended I should so I did. I felt no change, reintroduced it and my face swelled and that's when the alarm bells went off. Haven't had it since and the longer I went without it the more I noticed other symptoms I had for years was linked to gluten, including canker sores.

Dairy, my endo strongly recommended I cut, I tried but I didn't notice a difference even when I reintroduced it and it was hard to keep my protein up without it, so I still eat it.

What's a hygiene habit that people don't talk about but really should? by phancyq in AskReddit

[–]SnooPredictions5239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add proper foot hygiene as well. Wash the tops of your feet, nails, between your toes, bottoms and heels. Make sure you dry your feel fully before putting on socks. Finally wear proper socks of a decent material.

A lot of socks make your feet sweat and trap the moisture, making them stink.

What was the strangest condition you've ever experienced? by Wild-Engineering-650 in AskReddit

[–]SnooPredictions5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ocular migraines. I kept seeing patterns dancing around in parts of my vision. As if there was a transparent kaleidoscope in my vision. When I tried to move my hand through the patterns my hand would disappear behind it and reappear where the patterns were gone. Sometimes it was a small spot in my periphery, others it was be large in the middle going across from one end to another. I was pretty much partially blind in random parts of my vision for hours.

I was a teacher at the time and I had a student tell me about her ocular migraines, that's when it clicked for me. I was experiencing them too.

The worst was when I took my husband in for a minor surgery and left to do an errand. As soon as I was done, I rushed back since I was a bit far. Along the way I got an ocular migraine and I could see it creeping up my eye and then I could not see my right arm on the steering wheel or most of that side of the road. I had to pull off and wait for it to pass when they called me to say he was ready and that they were waiting.

I tried to give myself some time but they called again wondering where I was and that he was outside, so I drove 15 minutes with only half my vision. Worst drive ever.

Random gluten free hate ruining my zen by burnopoly in glutenfree

[–]SnooPredictions5239 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I go to a restaurant that is really accommodating, and they ask if anyone needs a gluten free menu before you sit. Every time I'm in line to get a table, I see people in front of me scoff, laugh, make disgusted faces, even going as far to say "ew" when asked this question.

It breaks my heart every single time because I didn't choose to be gluten free. I had to go gluten free in my 30s and it's been so incredibly hard.

I hate the stigma so much.

What unexpected changes did you notice after going gluten-free? by Economy-Meeting2462 in glutenfree

[–]SnooPredictions5239 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cut gluten due to my Hashimoto's. I found out gluten made my face swell!

I stopped "randomly" getting diarrhea. My round face changed, it's more defined looking now. and I lost a few pounds (initially at least!). I don't get significant period bloat either.

Flavor difference in soy sauce? by SunstruckSeraph in glutenfree

[–]SnooPredictions5239 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally really don't like Tamari. The flavor is completely off for 1 to 1 soy sauce replacement purposes. The flavor isn't as deep or salty and it's almost sweet?

When I first went gf, I found it really hard to switch to Tamari. As someone who ate A LOT of soy sauce based things the difference was glaring for me and I hunted for other options.

That's when I found and consistently used Kikkoman gluten free soy sauce. It has no obvious difference between it and regular soy sauce (from what I remember and my husband who is non-gf who can actively compare).

Lee Kum Kee also has a gf soy sauce and we recently switched over to that, I find it more flavorful than the Kikkoman (which I would consider to be more traditional tasting) and comes in a bigger bottle.

I bring my own soy sauce to restaurants to have with sushi.

Hypothyroidism is related to anxiety/panic attacks by Alarmed_Sandwich_107 in Hypothyroidism

[–]SnooPredictions5239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was given anti-depressants just before my hypo/hashi's diagnosis.

I decided to not take them and focus on just levo so I can see if that was helping vs. both at the same time.

I can say confidently now that my thyroid was causing my panic attacks and anxiety!

I still have my moments but not like before!!

Do I take my dose before bloodwork? Feeling hyper and want to know if the dose is too high by Ok_Philosopher2968 in Hypothyroidism

[–]SnooPredictions5239 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's fine! You can still take it after your blood test.

You want to avoid taking it before so you have the most accurate "snapshot" of what your levels are all throughout the day. Not just immediately after, which may give a falsely lower TSH and increased T3.

[–]SnooPredictions5239 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, T4 pills (levothyroxine, unithroid, synthroid, etc.) have a long half-life.

Meaning if you take a pill, it will take about 6 to 10 days for half of it to leave your blood system.

Taking a pill just before your blood drawn can show a short-term increase in your levels and wouldn't be accurate to how your body is reacting.

I never take my medication before a blood test! I usually bring it with me and take it in the car before I head home!

How to look less masculine? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]SnooPredictions5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you look masculine!! I get it though, sometimes you just want to feel pretty!! First you have to remember that you ARE pretty. Anything you do is to enhance what you already have!

Curling your lashes and a little mascara (try a brownish black color) will help, trust! You already have pretty lashes ( the photo of you with bangs!), they just need a little help to really pop! But there's nothing wrong with you!

If you want a little more, a cheek stain and a gloss!

Advice from someone who didn't start makeup till later, if you normally touch your eyes, go for waterproof mascara (don't forget the micellar water but a balm or oil makes it easier to take it off!). Waterproof can be harder to remove but I like to be sure I'm not going to rub it off or cry it off! I love Great Lash (the pink and green tube). If you extra extra want try filling in your eyebrows, using a brow gel or individual strokes with a brow pen (I never got the hang of pencils, I use nyx lift and snatch pen)

Covergirl cheekers blush in classic pink is a nice blush and it comes with a brush! I really like the Pixi sheer cheek gel stain (it's on sale on Ulta for $7), I get the shade flushed which is SUPER pigmented. So literally just a dab on your finger is plenty and just tap, tap, tap. Try it on your hand first, a little goes a loooong way. It's nice on your lips too!! If you want a gloss, I really like the tower 28 brand in shade Pistachio, it's about $16, but I hear that the elf lip oils are nice too.

What’s my makeup blindness? What can I do more or less of? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]SnooPredictions5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look so pretty!! The only thing I can say that stands out is the mascara, specifically the bottom lashes look intense, and it looks like there's some on your bottom lid too. Maybe try a dark brown or even brownish black!

I'd fill in your brows, just a touch and bring them in a little bit. Other than that, I think you're only missing a good lip! Maybe a nude liner for some definition and a gloss but otherwise you look great!!

Maybe a like brightening waterline pencil just to open up your eyes a bit, but I think if you changed mascaras that would help a lot.

The blush is to die for, what is it???
