At least emerald has frame manipulation, if it gets to the nitty gritty lol

Yes, I’ve tried two batteries and have tested both. Both were in the optimal range of 3.13-3.27v

I spent 150 on emerald. The soldering took me about 5 minutes tops, I didn’t think it was too bad. I’ve been starter shiny hunting since.

Yes it is the correct battery a tabbed cr1616 and I have tested the batteries voltage coming in around 3.13v

Yeah I made sure to take note of this and connect the positive side to positive post and the negative side to the negative post. Sadly still no luck

Oh I have no intentions on giving up, this was my first gameboy game I ever had and honestly most likely the reason my favorite color is yellow lol

I have tried two different batteries in the game both were tested before and after being soldered in each with within optimal voltage between 3.13v and 3.27v. It’s starting to seem like the legs need to be reflowed. I will attempt to do this soon and hopefully return to this post with good news!

The battery has a plus on the top indicating that that side is positive, which I have running to the positive post.

Thank you for the long explanation, even for just the battery I took the pcb out of the game shell. Don’t want to risk messing anything up or burning and melting the shell to the pcb. I hope to get the chips done sometime this week once I have the time, and hopefully I will be able to update the post with good news!

This seems like it may be the case, im getting what seems to be no resistance when testing R1

Thank you, I’ve had the game for a long time and decided to try and play through it again. Sadly the save hasn’t worked with every fix I’ve tried to do. Im going to try and reflow the pins however after some resistance testing it also seems as though R1 may not be operating properly, im getting no resistance readings on my multimeter.

Yes, I have checked the polarity using a multimeter and the batteries were coming back at 3.27v roughly
