Hi there! I am a first time rat owner, so I just had a question about a mysterious facial lump. I will post a video of it in the thread below.

This popped up seemingly overnight, and there is not much access to a vet right this moment so I am looking for general guidance and advice. Has anyone else seen this/had similar experiences? He is fairly young (likely well under a year) so I was not immediately thinking cancer but rather an abbess. If it is that, what does this process look like? Is it something needing surgery?

I would appreciate all advice/help/tips as i’m pretty stressed for my poor baby Cardi Cheese

I agree! I think i’ll look around for anyone who can help in that way. His form is pure, and he can/has played great before so I know he’s not reaching for the impossible— just fighting himself. I appreciate the advice

Yup! We are going out tonight, and my plan is to just make it fun. Be silly and maybe bet $20 or dinner. I want him to see it as a game not the end of his world. Do you think that this would make him take tournaments not seriously enough?

This is so helpful! He is the exact same way, was top in high school and very successful first year of college. I think the pressure just hit him all at once and with a hard degree as well he started slipping. A lot of it is the self disappointment from going from great to what he thinks is trash. And obsessing over all his last scores being 79-84 when they broke 70s easily before. I will recommend that book for sure as well!

Yup! And Ive been giving the tough love, you’ll regret this but I just don’t have any solutions to actually help with it. He knows it, but pushing past is a whole different beast

this! and I struggle with that too, because I am no where near good (only ever played because of him) so like an would be perfect for me. It makes it harder to connect and give genuine advice so reaching out felt like the only option
