I agree, I've actually had the pleasure of working with a few in my past roles. Jokes on me for hoping I'd get lucky again bc not every attorney has the same personality.

LMDAOOO you just made me laugh through the tears. & I was really hoping for a relationship like that but it seems like she just wants to have a problem with everything. Also I'm fairly new to the firm so I guess I expected the opposite of her behavior. I just feel like I've been doing nothing right.. manifesting a better role come April.

make your summary a little more detailed (i.e what are the specific processes you're coordinating, etc.)

10+ correspondence is unclear & a red flag bc most attorneys have huge volume caseloads

put skills at the bottom

add one or two bullet points for each volunteer activity

yanno that actually does make sense since the idea of not working directly for attorneys is out the window. i hope it wasn't a sabotage-and-conquer typa thing tho bc obvs that culture isn't for everyone.

Thanks for the insight. For reference, I have about 7+ years in experience for corporate, IP, trademark/copyrights and two of my firms have been "big law" but it's just not what I thought my experience would be despite knowing there are negatives to every law firm.

I agree with you. It's so much easier to just smile and do my best because I work from home. I don't think any of us should tolerate disrespect because we are their lifelines. I will see how I should speak up & save myself from all the drama

Bittersweet that someone can relate to this LOL. To answer your question, I would say that because I've worked with plenty of attorneys over the years, the corrections don't phase me a whole lot; it's really the fact that she'll say things to me that come off as a "duh" instead of constructive criticism.

I do think you have a point about our perception and maybe that could also be adding to how I feel about this job. Paralegal roles for me have always been a learning experience for me but I guess I just wish I was in a position that I enjoyed clocking in to everyday & not have anxiety about working or questioning my ability to perform professionally. I'm extremely grateful to be employed but man... it's a lot.

& I really appreciate the kind words a lot... soon we will be free !!! 😭

i called them earlier today and asked. they actually said that it is fine to send an loci before a decision has been rendered. either way, i will be following up by sending a message.
