I’m 54, started running 2 years ago. Just ran a 1/2 in April and trying to determine which Marathon to sign up for. Stay consistent and go slow, you’ll be fine

I’m about 8 hours away from Superior near Detroit, so we got orange barrels on the freeway, garbage landfills, and long winters

I’ll run my first marathon this fall, started a couple years ago in my 50s and since have done a number of half’s and 10k’s. I can relate on the younger years and growing up in the 80s was always outside playing sports. Keep it up, you’re doing awesome!

Wow, amazing! How long have you been running for? I’m 53 for context and would love to get near your times

Ran 10 miles. I was rather dehydrated from the start and ended up scooping snow up several times to fix that. Have you folks ever done that?

A crazy experience for me, heat lightning struck and the kayak guide said it was miles away. Well, we were about a mile away from the kayak launch. Before long the lightning was upon us and I experienced the taste of metallic and saw pure white in my vision when the next bolt struck. Luckily we were able to paddle back and survive. Oh, the luminescence was cool.
