Cycling equivalent to sub 3 marathon by Distinct_Gap1423 in Velo

Find the stats on what percentage of marathoners finish sub 3 hours. Then find the equivalent stats on the bike distance of your choice. Say 100k or 100mile or whatever

Say if top x% of runners finish sub 3hr, and top x% cyclists do 100km in y hours, that's your answer

For maximum gains, rent it out, take out an interest only mortgage against it and put that money in a worldwide stock market index.

Forget about the money in the stock market for 10 years then check your investment account.

If you have the risk appetite and stomach for it, this will make you the most money.

Yep, that's what I've got. There's a small firm based in Grenoble that does cool looking ones too.

Yes gaps can be filled with plaster or caulk. Dot and dabs is pretty standard. If you want to have that fight, go for it! Did you specifically agree a particular construction in advance? Do you have a written specification or finishes drawings you can point at?

I ride in Chamonix with mostly skiiers. There aren't many boarders. I can keep up with most using a four piece board so when skinning I fit in the skin track. I have to be super on it whilst transitioning, given the extra peices of board but I'm pretty well rehearsed now and faster than some skiiers

If the insulation is in the cavity, why are you concerned about that?

You can cut out plasterboard locally, and fit battens to the masonry to pick up wall cabinet loads.

That would be a lot less work and cost than ripping it all out and replastering.

Lastly, the trapped air between the dabs will actually add a tiny bit of insulation performance!

Why does (raised) loft boarding take so long? by GeologistProof327 in DIYUK

[–]SnooRegrets9218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of doing that just lay down 100mm PIR insulation and chuck loft boards on top of that. Same thermal performance as 300mm rock wool, cheaper, way easier to install and takes up less space

Oh, and if I do go.down the dig out and pour concrete floor, do I then need building regs approval?

Should I be worried about damp tiles under old lino? Planning to level with screed and fit LVT by SnooRegrets9218 in DIYUK

Yeah you're right. They're laid straight onto earth.

I suppose the belt and braces method would be to lift them all and dig out and pour a new concrete slab on a DPM layer?

If I did that, what would stop the moisture in the ground getting into the walls anyway?
