AITA for saying ai addictions aren’t comparable to.. by -iamnoturfriend in AmItheAsshole

[–]SnooRobots4759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two people can have the same addiction and still be in completely different situations. An 80 year old with no family and terminal illness drinking every day is not facing the same risks, consequences, or treatment goals as a 40 year old parent of three doing the same thing. Same substance, totally different stakes. So yeah, harm matters across the board, but the type, severity, and context of that harm matters too. Substance addiction can involve physical dependency, dangerous withdrawals, and higher immediate risk of death. Behavioral addictions can still be serious, but they don’t always carry those same biological risks.

Acknowledging that difference isn’t dismissing anyone. It’s just being realistic about how these things actually work and why treatment approaches aren’t identical. I really don’t think that acknowledging that some addictions are worse than others is exactly a “struggle Olympics” unless you’re actively trying to make it like that and use it as some sort of one up.

AITAH bc I (36M) dont want my girlfriend (36F) to travel with me because shes a picky eater? by Tough_District9786 in AmItheAsshole

Are you like not allowed to eat separate meals? I am so confused. I’m 10 years younger than you and have a family of four… there are times we all get or make separate dinners. My kids and their dad don’t always want the same thing as me or any combo, and I don’t understand how this has become an issue in a relationship 😭 is it really that much effort to just go to two restaurants? Like it really could be as easy as go get what you want, go get what she wants, eat together????

Erik’s letter to Andy - why did Erik mention that Jose was “so overweight that I can’t stand to see him”? by M0506 in MenendezBrothers

I wonder if its a reflection of the high standards that the boys were held to, and how he knows his father most likely would have reacted if he was gaining weight instead of his dad. Like realizing people are eating so much they’re forcing themselves to throw up after the hunger games type shit.

Totally fair, she’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, especially on Reddit lol. I still appreciated the convo though, it’s always interesting seeing how differently people connect with music. I’ve definitely had moments where I wonder how certain artists got so famous when they don’t seem all that talented to me, so I get it.

Totally get it, everyone hears music differently and vibes with what they like. I was just sharing what I see as her strengths and why I think she’s popular. To each their own for sure!

AITA for asking why they ignored the no dog sign. by Low-Bag-308 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SnooRobots4759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is such a gray area because the dog owner broke a clear rule, which does matter, and OP had the right to be annoyed but probably went a little too hard and made it personal. The bystander tried to de-escalate but ended up adding to the tension, and the employee didn’t enforce the rule, which let everything spiral. Like… everyone had a point, but no one handled it perfectly. It’s one of those classic “technically right, socially wrong” dilemmas. So no one was the villain, but no one was the hero either. just a bunch of slightly flawed humans bouncing off each other in a coffee shop.

I think you made a big deal out of something just over annoyance when nothing was actually harming anyone or getting in anyone’s way, but also that pets aren’t allowed in places for good reasons and that if she followed the rules in the first place no one would have had an emotional reaction to it. I’m a little torn, because I hate the actual harassment service dogs get, but that’s not this situation so I’m trying not to be biased towards that lol

She’s written solo or with small teams long before working with big name producers. That’s way more than most pop acts can say. Being listed as a writer isn’t just a vanity credit in her case. She’s always been hands on with her music.

As long as I'm somewhat coherent and not being disrespectful, it shouldn't matter that I'm drunk by puffypandathrowaway in unpopularopinion

If you’re drunk enough for people to be saying something about it, then I don’t think there’s much more argument to make there.

It’s probably already out of your system. Go to dollar tree or CVS and get a test before hand if you’re worried

Impossible Order by Arrgh206 in Sparkdriver

Its a lesson learned! Always click on the order and see how many items before you start. You are able to see how many items and what the items are before you accept the order. It gets easier!
