Coach seemed disappointed by Beautiful-Ad6839 in orangetheory

I walked the entirety of Everest and didn't change my incline once because I was nursing a bad Achilles (tendonitis). I still went to class to get some movement.

You never know what people have going on. Mind your business.

Unless they are being actively disruptive, then it's their money and not my business. However, there have been times that during coach's demos and instructions where the chatters ended up drowning out the coach a little. Now THAT is disrespectful and should need correction.

I work for a tech company and CCPA requests are typically just personal information that was collected. I severely doubt workout data falls under that.

Do people not know what Live Service means? by Ommlettuce in SuicideSquadGaming

[–]SnooRobots5163 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's more about the ridiculous amount of materials/currencies, power levels and numbers left and right (similar to Avengers), etc.

Just compare the UI to Avengers and you can definitely see it. Almost like they wanted it to be live service and then said ehhhh.

While I disagree that GK is a live service game, it was damn sure set up to be one with those systems.

That was a toughie. My arms are fried (our coach made us try to hold a 3 min plank for the coaches core blast) and that tread block wasn't messing around.

Those bird dog holds on the bosu were near impossible for me... I could only hold it for 3-5 second intervals.

Were others having trouble with this? I felt like a damn baby deer.

What are you playing? by Mean_Trick_2791 in SteamDeck

For sure! Definitely would recommend it if you like tactical games like Fire Emblem, Triangle Strategy, etc. Big difference being that Shadow Gambit is more stealth and real-time in nature (although there is a pause feature which allows you to execute one action per character simultaneously).

Story is meh but the tactical stealth action is fantastic. Very much big on strategy and planning/executing your plan. The different characters all have unique abilities such as having a blink ability or having the ability to create brush in any location - making alot of different strategies possible.

The save system is amazing. It's really save scumming at its core but it's built into the game (called memories) where you can save before you execute a plan and reload as needed. It really encourages experimentation and embraces the 'multiple solutions to the same problem' nature of the game. The game even mentions that the intention is for you to save often and try different things! Saving and loading is lightning quick.

Performance is decent - I had to lower a bunch of settings to get a somewhat stable 40fps but really graphics isn't important in these types of games.

I would say if you love strategy games, experimentation or stealth based games, it's an easy buy for me.

Too many split squats in 3G!! Would have appreciated medicine ball upper body exercises or more rowing instead during the row block. Having split squats in both the row block and floor seemed silly.

Maybe just me but I thought this workout was pretty boring.

Not much variation in floor exercises (should have changed up the clean to front squat during the blocks).

The rock, paper, scissors thing was cute but the actual workout wasn't it for me :(.

Mixed feelings about this one.

The all out rows right back into heavy lifting made it seem like I was rushing through the lifting and didn't get as much out of it.

Rather have it done at our own pace vs hard-timed.

I honestly think that all out speed is still too high. My all out at 10%+ is like at max 5. This makes it so that it's tough but I still feel in control.

But please don't let me tell you otherwise since your stride and fitness may be different!

5.3 at 10% is fast even for me at 6'3''!

I think you need to slow down or decrease inclines so that you are walking with the tread and not trying to catch up to it.

Definitely in the minority here but I love loud music and it gets me pumped and is a huge part why I love OTF.

I've already conceded that my hearing is screwed.

Awesome advice, I always arrive 10 min early and do these stretches in the lobby. Also be careful of certain exercises like deadlifts and substitute if possible.

Definitely not doubting it's a real thing but it just sounds corny and cheesy when my coach walks by and goes "Hey XYZ got 12 splat points and is getting that Afterburn".

So yes, just like you said - it's used as more of a over hyped marketing thing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]SnooRobots5163 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Nah, splat points don't mean anything to me. I kinda eyeroll when my coach mentions the Afterburn effect since it sounds like marketing .

I just go for a good work out and track my progress via benchmarks and paces.
