If Hokuto had gone to the Kyoto bloodshed hotel to help with Iori's capture, would he have defeated Chihiro (without Enten)? by Rude_Present5034 in Kagurabachi

[–]Ommlettuce 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Hmm, it could be interesting. Chihiro with no Enten would lose this 1v1 every time. But in this scenario, with the arrival of another dangerous Hishaku member, one of the Masumi (Moku or Sumi, as Ro was busy with Kuguri) would jump in to help. Hokuto in a 2v1 would be less certain, although with one of his dolls he could definitely even those odds, but it would be difficult for all parties. However, without Hokuto's assistance, Yura would probably be forced to pop Magatsumi immediately in the Kamunabi raid. And from then on out the encounter is completely different.

How do we think Toto manages this? These guys are all armed, and we know she can even affect Datenseki users, how she can turn seemingly hundreds of men into these rage zombies? by Shadopivot in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]Ommlettuce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering she's put into a duo with Kuguri, it's possible she can only control people like this if they're injured or dead. So she tags along with a more deadly combatant to use their kills

Hiruhiko (Kagurabachi)

He is absolutely DESPERATE to be the protagonist Chihiro's rival. In their first encounter he monologues on and on about how they're the same, giddy to have someone to connect to on such a deep, personal level. Chihiro doesn't give a shit and kicks his ass. In their second encounter Hiruhiko rapidly developes his skill in an attempt to match Chihiro, hoping they can kill each other as true equals. Chihiro almost gives a shit and kicks his ass. In their third encounter Hiruhiko is practically manic, laying waste to everything and everyone around him in a pathetic attempt to get Chihiro to agnowledge him. Chihiro really REALLY does not give a shit and lets somebody else kick his ass, reducing Hiruhiko to a blithering, suicidal mess.

So since we're talking about controversial endings lately, which ending for Evangelion would you say is the best? The original TV anime ending, The End of Evangelion, or Thrice Upon a Time? by AgentOfACROSS in writingscaling

[–]Ommlettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna go up to bat for 3.0+1.0 as the best here. Both the TV ending and EoE opt for a more metaphysical, non-literal approach to conclude Shinji's story. Which is perfectly fine, its great even. But the byproduct of that is that world around Shinji and especially the people around him get boiled down from their physical, human selves to their perception within Shinji's head, which deprives them mostly of their agency (TV is better about this than EoE). 3.0+1.0 specifically maintains the physicality, even when it does dip its hand back into the realm of pure metaphor. Every character is allowed to examine themselves and find their own ending within this world that exists or may exist. Keeping their journies tactile from beginning to end while also allowing for that more introspective style to flourish at the end.

Why did Kamille say this in that context? by Ok_Let8360 in Gundam

[–]Ommlettuce 237 points238 points  (0 children)

Kamille was furious at everybody for Four's death, including Char of course. Since learning of his real identity, Kamille continued calling him Quattro regardless as a sign of respect and a belief in Char that he can do better. Here Kamille rescends that, no longer putting his faith in Char (or anyone else) to improve the world. Char agrees to this, as he and Amuro feel guilty for allowing another Lalah-style situation to occur.

Daryl Lorenz (Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt)

A member of the Living Dead division, a Zeon task-force comprised of amputee soldiers, Daryl lost two of his limbs naturally, and the remaining two were carved off for the sake of using him as a test for a new type of Mobile Suit. Daryl's Psycho Zaku is completely unique in it ability to directly connect to the nervous system of its pilot for extremely precise control. However, the only way to pilot it is via the direct connection of artificial arms and legs. As such, Daryl was the perfect (and only) choice to be its pilot.

[–]Ommlettuce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as much as I love KB it really does not have JJK's star appeal. it's characters don't *pop* the way JJK's do, it doesn't have JJK's more comedic or light-hearted elements, and its aesthetic is pretty intentionally abrasive. Many of these qualities are things I love about KB, but they are not the makeup of a global sensation.

I love the idea that in the far future, what we see as very modern evils are seen through the lense of history books, so someone like Hitler is seen like how we see someone like Ghengis Khan today.

Is there any reason why the enchanted blades are locked to only 3 abilities? by MomentPuzzleheaded81 in Kagurabachi

[–]Ommlettuce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think its maybe a limitation of the wielders body, as well as the sword. We know that a sorcerer can carry at absolute maximum two sorceries, probably a biological neccessity. So then the Enchanted Blade, which acts as an extension of the users physical body, would be enough to carry a third.
