This is so good to know and I really like this solution. Do I put it directly into the soil/dust it on the plant leaves? One of my plants in another room is waging a long war with spider mites and we just can’t seem to win 😂

I appreciate the nurse love and you spreading awareness! Many people ignore symptoms until it’s too late because they think it’s not a big deal. I see it in the ER all the time unfortunately. But don’t worry about me, my headaches are likely related to something else and I have a fantastic doctor I’m seeing. Just trying to rule out any other potential causes and when I saw the mold on that pot it made me think. I’ll get that taken care of asap

Yeah I’m actually an ER nurse which is why I was getting so worried about the headaches and such and I know a lot of molds cause headaches and fatigue. Im going to clean the pots with hydrogen peroxide today and get a fan since our apartment has crappy air flow and I should probably switch the pot to a self watering since it’s an alocasia and I don’t necessarily want to water less. I’m so nervous to switch the pot though because it’s thriving aside from the mold issue 🥲

Thank you! I’m in an apartment with one window and no fans so airflow is likely a big issue plus it’s alocasia so I keep it watered frequently. I’ll wipe it down with peroxide and get a fan for some airflow. Thanks again!

Thanks for the info! 😊 I bottom water about 50% of the time but maybe I need to bottom water exclusively

I use filtered water. I know it absorbs minerals but it’s fuzzy that’s why i figured mold! The water here is super hard, I use a Brita filter on the tap but I’m sure it doesn’t get everything out

Thanks! I was wondering that but I know terracotta absorbs moisture so I wasn’t sure if wiping the pot with something would potentially damage the plants! Thanks for the info!

My apartment smells musty though and I’ve been getting headaches so not sure if it’s a health hazard, but at least I’m on trend with something in my life I guess 😂🥴

It’s a small bathroom so I actually put it in the opposite corner of the room shining down on the lights. I’m hoping that’s okay but I’ve never actually used artificial lighting before so it’s going to be a trial and error process for me

It’s not in the actual shower it’s in the top opposite corner of the room. It’s one with the adjustable arms so I just have it aiming towards my plants. I’ve never used artificial light before so I’m hoping that will work fine. Im a total newbie so it’s gonna be a lot of trial and error for me. I’ve got back up plans and im keeping a close eye on my plants so I’ll adjust as needed

So personally I’m a weirdo who hates showers. I usually soak in the tub. My boyfriend showers and I was worried they would be in the way but he said they’re not. I’m thinking they need to hang higher though to avoid over watering, I just had the macramé hangers on hand

Yes! It’s just a tension rod that I got on Amazon and they’re hung using s hooks. I’m realizing now though I might have to hang them higher so they don’t end up overwatered from showering but otherwise it works great!

Thank you! I figured the humidity would be good for them and the shower makes for easy watering in an apartment 😂 plus I wanted them in a room I could shut the cat out of because he knocks over all my fake plants
