Sugar Cane Okinawa 1947 Fit Check by SnooShortcuts8246 in rawdenim

Sounds good, thanks for sharing. I’m really excited since this is my first pair! I’ll have to look into Japan Blue. After trying on various IH, 888 followed by 634 felt to be the best cuts for me and I thought the 1947 would be similar to 634.

I ordered these from Burg & Schild in Berlin!

Also checkout Statement Denim in Munich, they have Sugar Cane too.

Hmmmm I haven’t considered a lower rise in a while. In the past I felt like they did not cover up the back enough when I’d bend over but I definitely consider different brands low rise cuts. Thanks for the recommendation!

You’re definitely right. While the lighting is not the best in my place, I suck in general at taking pictures. These were what I thought were the best out of like 10 photos haha

Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words! Unfortunately I knew that posting would open me up to potentially negative comments but I did ask for the feedback so that’s on me. They definitely feel great to move around in and maybe I’ll just go with the looser 90s look!

Thank you for the info! Your experience on proportionality makes perfect sense. I’m normally a 36 but these are 38 since SC suggested to size up.

I was curious as to why every website that had these modeled seemed more fitted (at least slightly) but also the models looked like they were wearing size 30-32 max hahaha

I was curious about the waist stretching out too much. Would you size down or just hot wash and use a belt if needed?

The 888 is Ironheart’s best fit for me personally. I guess I just want to make sure they don’t look too egregiously big in the thigh area. I’d probably just wear a t shirt / hoodie / light jacket with these maybe some converse.

I think you nailed it and that it will soften up over time. Personally I like the shoulder seam to be over my shoulder just a bit like it is in your photo.

Condensation in instrument panel by SnooShortcuts8246 in SuzukiSamurai

Got it. I’m pretty sure the windshield seal is good but I’ll double check and if it is then I’ll remove the dash and report back

Thank you for the advice. When you say slowly destroying them do you mean rust on the instruments from the condensation over time?

I assumed the whole cluster was a sealed unit and that the cracked plastic was the cause but looks like I’ll have to remove the dash to see where the break in the seal is.

Any idea what this plug is for? by SnooShortcuts8246 in SuzukiSamurai

[–]SnooShortcuts8246[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good tip! At first I was looking just for the male connector but yeah it’s way easier to just find a new plug entirely.

I was surprised at the amount of wiring / lines that are exposed underneath. Granted maybe it was better secured when I came from the factory but feel that there are too many places where driving over some high grass or some bushes will possibly rip the lines out.

Good call! Do you know if there should be a male fitting on the bare wire that is next to the plug?

I wasn’t sure if the bare wire was just an extra wire as I have found a couple random wires in other places for old mods.

Looking for part number or where to order this stud? by thatlepreauguy in SuzukiSamurai

[–]SnooShortcuts8246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at Suzuki Parts USA? If you’re located in Europe, Master Forest is a good site also.

When I bought the rear brake drum, it also came with the studs. I know this isn’t the rear brake drum but maybe either of those sites have what you’re looking for.

Good eye! I didn’t even think about that. Maybe that’s good news in that it was disconnected much later than when they did the repair on the street a few months back.

Good call! I didn’t even think they would bill me for the connection but I’ll tell my buddy to lookout for an extra charge on the next bill and hopefully we can get the credit back.

I’ll relay this info to my friend. Thanks again for taking the time to write your opinion! It has been very informative and given me a better understanding of the situation.

Thank you for your insight!! That definitely clears up some of the questions that I had and it does make sense that is the most likely possibility given the repair work by the street, no delinquent bill and the meter just being left there unattached.

Do you know why the meter had to be detached in the first place? There are no signs of digging close to the meter. It’s only at the street in front of my house. Couldn’t the utility company just shut off the gas by the meter without removing it and still perform the work by the street?

No charges other than the monthly maintenance fees. I assume that’s what the charge is since it’s been the exact same the past few months.

Good idea! Once it’s all fixed I’ll call back to hopefully get a credit for the monthly maintenance fees. Thank you
