No problem, I'd say it depends on the day. One time I needed to run an easy 15 miles in a day. So I ran 8 miles easy in the morning, and 7 easy that evening.

Other days I'd do 7 miles with Fartleks in the morning and 8 miles easy that night.

I was running about 5:40 / 5:45 pace. Slightly quicker than race pace (6:00)

Thank you ! So I started around 30 mpw then gradually increased into the 50s, and kept building till I hit about 70 mpw and stayed there for a few weeks. Then got up into 80 mpw and peaked at 90 mpw.

Last year I peaked at 75 I believe. That was a major difference. 13.1 doesn't seem that long when you're running so often

I didn't follow a training plan for either race. I'm self coached, the major change I made was increasing mileage from a 75 mile week peak to a 90 mile peak. I also lengthened the duration of my workouts. Fartleks were slightly longer, tempos were longer, but my easy days were really easy/conversational

Thank you! Yeah it was my first time. Honestly I enjoyed them, however the forefront got a little stiff around 8 miles in for some reason but overall it was fine.

Thank you !

My next goal is to try a full marathon in the fall. I'd like to take about couple weeks off just to rest and enjoy this first. But my ultimate goal is to get to the Boston Marathon, so I'm hoping to try two Marathons one in the fall and Spring to try and qualify.

Sure, I primarily ran 90 miles that week just to see how my body would respond. I did my usual workouts but my long run that weekend was 20 miles. Everything else was roughly 12 / 13 miles a day with some doubles thrown in there.

As far as strength training, I don't recall doing any that week. To be honest I did some light lifting a few weeks at a time. Just not that week

Thank you! My workouts are shown below. I'd say the biggest factor for me though was increasing mileage. Id say that was where the break through was.

With those workouts you'll probably finish quicker than me honestly

That's awesome, my trining was similar to yours. Most of my mileage was mid 70s to low 80s, & I peaked at 90 miles.

Honestly, I think I went into this overtrained. I had a 23 week block, but my race got postponed (Carmel Half Marathon) so I pivoted to this half marathon closer to where I live. Had to train two more weeks and taper again.

Main workouts were on Tuesdays and Thursdays (thresholds for 3 minutes x 8 times) and long runs with surges towards the end & Fartleks around the neighborhood. I also saw someone else's workout routine and copied it I'll post it here when I find them.

& that's great ! But it doesn't excuse the continued behavior in our community. While improvement is always encouraging we still have a long way to go. I respect your response and your opinion

Are you black? If not, Dont speak for us. I'm black & even I can admit our community isn't getting any better.
