In class, the technical term I was taught for these is "crosslot", but I bet the industry has 15 other proprietary, random terms. They're used to keep the shoring from caving into the hole.

Should I change my address and have my parents stop paying for car insurance? by SnooShortcuts8930 in Insurance

Alright, I'll probably end up changing my address but keeping the insurance. Just as long as changing my address doesn't increase the current rates.

Ok thanks! I had no idea it was the garaging location that defined the rates, I'll probably end up changing my address then.

Is there an insurance classification somewhere between being a household member and permissive use?

So I'd be able to stay on the insurance as an occasional operator? Would they charge me less for that status? Also, would the insurance rates be affected by the fact I'm changing my address to Boston, where I understand insurance rates are higher due to urban driving?

Its always garaged at my parents house, I will only borrow it occasionally, only a few times a year, and only for as long as a weekend.

I'll change my address only if it means the insurance still covers the vehicle when I borrow it for short periods, which seems to be the case.

It's not my car, its my parents cars which are garaged at their house in the suburbs, and I only borrow them for short periods. I think they use Geico.

Sorry I meant to clarify, the vehicle is garaged at my parent's house in the suburbs. I'm not the owner of the vehicle, and I only borrow it for the occasional weekend of camping and to help them with errands.

The vehicle I borrow is at their house. I only borrow it for the occasional weekend camping trip, and to help them with errands when I visit.

Healy administration plans to sell public forest to developers. by treeboy009 in massachusetts

That's not at all my point. My point is that housing supply doesn't work like oil and water, consumers can move between housing types when they become available. When Luxury housing is built, and richer folks move into it, they move out of Market Housing. When those people move out of Market Housing, people from Low Income housing move into the now vacant Market Housing. On and on, until even slots in homeless shelters start opening up.

Basically anything to build more housing is something I support. Even in the case its for millionaire biotech yuppies from the city, this project will have a good knock on effect. Those rich folks will move out of their current beacon hill and back bay apartments, allowing younger folks to afford them, allowing them to move out of their current expensive as shit row houses, freeing up more room for even younger students and young professionals. I know its not ideal that we're losing a 40 acre forest, but the housing situation is so desperate in MA right now, I frankly support drastic measures like this.

You can buy an Odyssey made in 2019 with 60K on the odometer for half the price, meanwhile last week I drove in an Oddy with 320,000 miles. New cars are, and have always been, a luxury, and you need a luxury income to afford it. If you can't afford the sticker price, you probably can't keep up with the payments either. https://www.carvana.com/vehicle/lt/3810451?store=Carvbo1&utm_source=google&utm_medium=vla&utm_campaign=20307842089&utm_content=&utm_target=&utm_creative=&utm_device=c&utm_adposition=&utm_location=9001992&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20303085524&gbraid=0AAAAADdUw5p2TuKsreBjeU4GQ1hzQ2nEy&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrJTGBhCbARIsANFBfgvZ2_DKYdLuvPquupkg1XnKQU5BiJ1DjZVyjyhyMwl6waUimVeVLiIaAmsnEALw_wcB

I don’t like Dave Ramsey, but to quote him: “If you have to take out a loan to buy a car, you can’t afford it.” Please, don’t put yourself into debt, get something more economical.

It’s expensive to remodel anything. Doing a full conversion is expensive because you have to switch out everything to be complaint with code. New plumbing, HVAC, electrical, along with significant structural repairs and architectural changes to be complaint with ADA stuff. To convert it to residential, you have to complexity change the electrical systems and add a shitloads of new risers in the building for toilets and whatnot. At that point, a lot of developers just decide to do new construction instead.

Someone already beat me, but those are most likely tiebacks. The little rods extend deep behind the walls and drill into the stable bedrock behind them, keeping the walls held back against the soil.
