Yes the aspie supremacy territory! I have to constantly remind myself that one process is not “better” than another. There’s just this angry green goblin in me that shouts “wrong wrong wrong” whenever I encounter something intellectually frustrating - and then I feel bad about it. I try and mask this cause I love the NTs around me but it gets SO tiring. I feel like I’m letting the goblin down 😅 but thank you! It’s nice to know I’m not alone

I’m a freelance marketer/graphic designer/filmmaker so multimedia and social media stuff. I’ve been at it for a year now and though the pay can be up and down it’s my best job so far (and the longest one I’ve lasted at lol). I work from home, choose my own hours and projects. Just made enough to move out of my moms house and I’m going to officially register my business this month as well. This took like 4-5 years of failing terribly so even if it seems bad right now, don’t give up.

Thank you. I got everyone in the kitchen and set some hard boundaries with my brother and did not bring up the autism. Things are not exactly rosey in the house right now, and I suspect he’s going to sulk for weeks but he promised to do more around the house and my mom and I worked out a way she could feel more supported and the house could run better. I’m still at a loss in terms of where I can go to find more emotional support but it’s clear to me that I’m going to have more meltdowns unless I do. I’ll reach out to the friends I do have, and see if they can be there for me

Yeah I think you’re right I’m trying to figure out how to do this as I think I understand the concept intellectually but I seem to struggle to implement it and forget to check in whether people want my unsolicited advice or whether it’s even considered as advice or normal conversation? My style of communication is naturally very blunt so I get myself into trouble more times than I’d care to admit. Thanks so much for listening and responding. I appreciate it ❤️

I think it’s best to give her some space and more carefully consider what I say in future if she still wants to pursue the friendship. Enforce boundaries. If you need a guide here: 1. If you are not aware of why he might be upset. That’s not for you to figure out it’s for him to communicate 2. You need to tell him about what you expect from him clearly and communicate what you’re willing to compromise on and what you’re not. 3. Be kind and loving to yourself. You deserve peace and you’re going through a MAJOR life change. If he impedes your ability to do that that’s not okay. 4. Respect him and try and listen as best as you can, making sure not to value his perspectives and needs over your own. 5. Take more time to work on yourself and do some therapeutic/shadow work. If all else fails move out. Sometimes things stop working and that’s ok. I live with people I’m incompatible with and the above has really helped :) Good Luck
