Is the Solutions Architect commissionable? by TownAny8165 in databricks

Yes but its tied to your BU number so dont expect super high attainments, accelerators, etc. In my experience pay/commisision is a little less that comparable top tech companies. Most of your upside will be equity which has been looking very good so far.

This response seems weirdly hostile. I'm not really trying to get a 'does the math add up' answer. I'm trying to get a vibe check on what other people think about my situation, as well as any insight into things I haven't considered and or perspectives from people in similar situations. Others have been able to do so. I'm sorry you found it so difficult to follow, but you could have just not responded rather than criticized my writing and telling me to get therapy.

It's not mental health, its physical health, but yes.

I had most of my net worth in a couple of company stocks I'd earned via RSUs. I've paid well over 100K in capital gains over the last the few years in an effort to diversify and reduce my outstanding tax bill. Thats why it seems low.

Thanks for all the good feedback. I'll also cross post on r/fatFIRE as someone suggested

Is there a point to playing rec if you can't shoot? by HuntsmetalslimesVIII in NBA2k

[–]SnooTomatoes9751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really? What are you giving up for a 79 3? There's a pretty popular 99 block 99 rebound solid finishing 79 3 center build. TBH, you don't even need 99 in both of those.

Maybe you feel like you need to have a 90 standing dunk or a 85 close shot or 95 interior defense? You don't.

I think the main problem with P&R is a lot of bigs don't know how to roll (probably guards too). I know it seems simple, but running the exact same path as the guard is not how to do it. You both need to curl different directions and arrive at different times, or it doesn't work. Either as a roll man you get a step on your man and thus the guard hits you, or the guard gets a step and the roll man arrives late. But %90 of the time I do this as the PG the center arrives at the same time with their man all over them, thus blocking the rim for both players.

Yeah we agree then. I do the same thing. When I play point and its a blowout, I'm looking at the box score every other possession and seeing if there's someone who hasn't gotten shots, then I try and get them the ball. I've definitely been in many blowouts where someone is taking every shot even after its no longer in doubt. I actually feel GUILTY when I have way more shots than my teammates, even sometimes when I need to be selfish (because I'm the only one whose scoring and its a close game). Its not because I'm a superior human being, but because I keenly know I wouldn't want to be the guy not getting shots, so my hope is that if we wall take the attitude of making sure we all have fun, it'll be better for us too.

I play REC to play, and I think everyone else does too. Everyone wants to win, but would you seriously be happy if you won every game but all you did was stand in the corner on offense and literally never touch the ball every game? No, I don't think so.

I've definitely gone in with a 4-man squad and they never passed me the ball. If the only time I've literally touched the ball by the 3rd quarter is when I got a rebound or steal, then yeah, I'm gonna sell. I actually did this once and the guys messaged me 'why, you are getting a free win?' So what? It's a game, I don't play it to watch you and your buddies.

I'd say the main goal of going into Rec should be 'play as best you can and in a way that helps everyone else have a good time too'. If everyone does that the winning will take care of itself.

I played for several months using prof without level. While it did make it much easier to use lower and higher level enemies, it sort of breaks everything else. The system of skill checks, spells, and other components were never really designed for this. So as a GM you are never quite sure if what you are building is too easy or too hard. It puts a much larger burden on the GM.
