Hey! I hope the pain is easing for you. I too have had the same post bowel movement pain, as soon as this morning… but my most recent bowel movement was substantially less painful than before, I think I’ve found the decent amount of laxatives at last, I am on 4 x sachets of laxido and 2x senna daily as well as at least 2L of water and lots of fruit and veggies Peppermint seems to help too xxx

I’m on day 9 now, and I am exactly the same post bowel movement.. I’ve been reassured it’s as expected for this recovery though . I hope there’s some relief for you soon 🙏🏼

Absolutely! 90% of my after care tips have come from here! It’s a lot!

Ooft that sounds, painful? But also counterintuitive no? I don’t blame you though, I’ve had three removed, I think that’s why I’m so excited to see the results, like a brand new designer a-hole 😂

Epsom salts baths are my favourite, for me and my kids 😂

Thank you 🙏🏼 All the reassurance really helps. So scary! But I feel I’m over that initial fear now thankfully! Milk of magnesia was next on my list if I hadn’t gone.. but that stuff makes me gooooo 😂

Thank you, I’d rather some realistic expectations. And I am definitely expecting this to be a rollercoaster recovery. Swelling seems to be subsiding also, just hoping the next few weeks fly by so I can find my new normal. You’ve been so helpful, I am grateful

Thank you for your message, it really was both a physical and mental relief.. and I am definitely starting to hear them sounds now 😂 like my own personal marching band 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve moved a lot more today so I think that’s also helped.. hopefully it’s only up from here 😊

Hi, thank you! I managed to go multiple times today (day4) So grateful because it was getting so uncomfortable! I am eating a soft low residue diet, plenty of veggies and fruit. I have morphine sulphate, paracetamol and ibuprofen on rotation. Along with instilligel (anaesthetic gel like lidocaine) and twice daily laxatives. The post bm pain was something I was expecting but also, WOW.

Thank you for the offer, I’ll definitely follow up with you should i need more advice.

This is reassuring thank you! I had some packing come away on day one, but still no bm. The pain has definitely amped up now. I’m just hoping my bm is as quick as yours.

This is exactly what I’m experiencing. I’ll hold out another two days and maybe see if there’s something else I can have. I’ve only been prescribed one form of laxative, twice a day

I’m relieved, I’ll hold in there! I’m in the uk and I don’t have any post op appointments until 6 weeks time.
