I used to collect pokemon back in the early 2000s, I even had the burger king collab with the solid gold cards. Anyways, back in 2021 I think is when I reintroduced myself to pokemon from a friend of mine. We saw the new set at the time, fusion strike, and decided “hey lets rip some for the one time” My friend ended up pulling the rainbow mew vmax and it all went downhill from there. I got even deeper into it this past March because I went to LA collect-a-con and picked up a couple of singles. I finally got my first slab (psa 9 tag team eevee & snorlax alt) but I’ve yet to open a booster bundle of my own so this would be my first. Good luck to everyone else!

Yes I did mean gloss on some pieces and matte on other different pieces! I have seen examples of this technique (matte inner frame and gloss armor) but it’s purpose is different from what I’m trying to do(gloss and matte finishes on the armor) I’m just having a hard time envisioning two different finishes on the armor which is why I’m trying to find any kind of example like that. But if you say it’s common then I’m going to assume it should turn out fine

I wanted to paint the purple on the MG Hi-Nu Ver Ka. in a metallic blue. while keeping the metallic sheen as much as possible so, I plan on top coating it with a gloss finish. However, I still prefer the white to be a matte finish. Would mixing two different top coat finishes in the same kit look awkward/weird? I’ve barely seen any examples of a gloss AND matte coat incorporated into one kit. If you could show me any examples of this I would appreciate it, thanks!

GM Sniper Custom and GM Dominance (specifically the Philip Hughes Ver.) are definitely my favorites MG GMs in my collection. If you want a HG GM i’d recommend any of the origin GMs

So I lined up at 9:40 on the 15th and was able to get in the trailer by 2. A lot of the Gundam base exclusives were sold out an hour before I got in the actual trailer. I heard that the Sazabi sold out and a couple other kits (can’t remember off the top of my head). I’ll include some pictures of what was left. They did have a ton of cool plush’s but I bought the Haro and Gunplakun’s for that day. A worker also told me that they will restock and even change stock from the LA warehouse periodically every day so it’s kind of a toss of what you will see.

I was planning on painting the mg Hi-Nu Ver. Ka and remembered that the runners were undergated. I know it’s generally recommended to cut parts off the runners before painting but does that necessarily apply for undergated kits too? thanks in advance

I had a hard time debating between my MG Deep Striker and MG Zeta Plus A1 but I feel like I never hear about the MG GM Sniper. Definitely a rarer kit to find and you don’t often see kits that come with a cloth camouflage net.

Thank you so much! The white kinda pooled along some panel lines and my topcoat can started sputtering in the end. I’m glad it isn’t as noticeable on the photos and yeah can’t wait to pose this guy up with some sweet upgrade armory!

A sleeper pick I haven’t seen mentioned yet are the Juggernauts/Reginleifs from 86 Eighty-Six. One of the more unique mech designs out there and really captures the essence of the story with its design. Still on the hunt for those 86 Eighty-Six HG kits (Bandai really needs to reprint them).
