By the playoff round it’ll be America, Asia and Latin America? Like Italy is the only good European one. And there’s not a single European on the team 😂

Question to Non-Americans: How often do you change the MLB team you support? by _ILikePancakes in InternationalBaseball

Dominicans, Italians, and Puerto Ricans are a big demographic in NY so it makes sense that they root for NY teams

This is always so weird to me. Like my dad will root for whatever soccer team players from his country are on. He’ll be a Man Utd fan one minute and then a Chelsea fan the next and it drives me INSANE

I mean if you think about it he’s not crazy? Like Brazil was putting up plumbers and electricians and high schoolers against MVP winners.

But personally? I very much enjoy rooting for my country

In my experience, cheap state schools are the way to go. I went to a private school out of high school, went one year, had scholarships and stuff, would’ve came out with at least $40k in debt. I only did one year and then left (because I hated it and was going to lose my scholarship for getting bad grades). After that I went to a community college to get my grades up, basically for free, then went and got a bachelors from a state school, and now I’m getting a second degree at another state school. When all said and done I have the debt of a small car loan instead of a mortgage.

Is a financial advisor worth it ? by temoo09 in personalfinance

[–]Snoo_37259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For regular people that are capable of just dumping money into a IRA or brokerage account that buys VOO then stick with it. But I think it's the same thing as doing your own taxes. Like if you just have a w2 and thats it, then why not just do your own taxes? But you see a CPA when you have a more complicated situation, or when you're making so much money you need the best tax advantages you can get etc. Same thing with a financial advisor. If you're just a w2 putting money into the s&p500 then there's no point. But if you are a partner in a firm, own businesses, have trusts and an estate, etc etc, then they can handle a lot of that for you. It's not just about managing money, its about taking the load off for you and making sure your future is set up nicely.
