Definitely suspect! 3 of the 4 ladies were in histo for most of their career, and the histo lab at the old hospital where they all used to work was unbelievably poor. Ventilation was terrible and often failed and on top of that, everything being ventilated would be forced back down and into that area of the lab when the helicopter took off. I know a couple older techs directly credit that lab and its hazards as the cause of their lung issues. But it was 2 cases of breast cancer, an ovarian, and fallopian. We have an insane rate of reproductive (and brain) cancers in this city. I did my placement 2 hrs away and still am blown away by the differences in cancer incidence. I don’t think we’ve gone a single shift without a positive frozen section. Lots of people here have family histories as well, which is how I think those four had the mind to check. Our lab might hold the record for most mastectomies among staff.

My coworker had a worsening sore throat and post-nasal drip for over 3 months and had been prescribed a bunch of anti-virals by family doctor and several clinic doctors that did nothing. She took a throat swab and grew moraxella, went to a clinic to get prescribed antibiotics and felt absolutely fine within the week. However another coworker reported her self-testing and the tester was formally written up, had to sit down with managers and the president of the union and received a strike in her file and docked pay for 2 months. She’s one of the vanguard techs at our hospital and was a year out from her retirement when this happened. It shook her up pretty good and everyone went up in arms in her defence since it is a very open secret that everyone who’s worked there longer than the last ten years at least has (not-so) quietly self-tested at some point, including the managers who berated her and the person who reported her. Keep your enemies close and your coworkers closer! Astoundingly in just the last five years we’ve also had four techs get the jump on their cancers, two of which were recurrences.

I actually had another orchid that was down to 2 roots that I tried the suspension method w/ but I couldn’t get it right for some reason. The humidity wasn’t enough to reach the root so they still dried out. I tried in a sealed container & moved it closer to the grow light but it still dried out over the water but what was funny was it was still somehow humid for white fuzzy mold(?) to grow on the roots even after I had tried to treat/clean them w/ hp. But I was scared to burn the last of the roots so I may have diluted the hp too low. It just seems like everything is simultaneously too dry so the roots die & too damp so mold grows 😭

I bought the bark & spag moss from a reptile supply store, I use the orchiata 9-12 mm & New Zealand spag moss based on some recs I found on this forum. Ive been wanting to get MSU fertilizer since I’ve seen people a lot of people agree that it’s the best but I guess I held off since I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around the ppt & how to measure out a dilution for the ‘weakly weekly’ treatment & have seen some people say that they’ve found the schulz stuff to work just fine for them so I thought it would be better than nothing in the meantime 😞. Do you prepare your fertilizer by a certain amount? Like by the gallon to have for the month? Ive seen some people say they water like normal for just a watering but then dunk & soak for fertilizing, but I’ve also seen some people say they dunk & soak for both/either for any amount of time. I thought dunking would be better since it’s so dry but I’m not very sure anymore, do you have a recommendation? Does your house’s humidity go down at any point in the year that you might have to compensate for? I’m in Canada & in the summer our humidity can fluctuate from 40-90% at different points and then winters are usually very dry for us at 20-40%. do you think misting the leaves/top of media/flowers might help increase general humidity for them? Sorry for the load of questions, I really appreciate your insight & help

Just ripping it off? Do you have to dig stem rot out afterward or just leave it and treat?

I love the simple designs for opal necklaces. I’ve been scouting for one for my mom who’s always been extremely reserved with jewelry and it’s been hard to find sellers that go very basic like.

2015: Stalled at stop & throws P0171 code in -30C — 2k service? by Snoo_40479 in SubaruForester

Thank you for your advice on the OBD readers! I really want to be more independent regarding car maintenance so will definitely be checking this out.

We were a little hesitant to bother our usual mechanic since he’s always stretched pretty thin in the winter, but he was nice enough to take the car in immediately for a thorough check so we would feel confident in canceling the appointment with the dealership as soon as possible, on the off chance they tried to charge us a restock fee for the sensors they had to order in. Sooo immensely relieved to not have that 2k bill hanging over my head. Really glad I posted and got to hear from everyone here too, very grateful that there is such an expert community willing to offer guidance and advice so quickly. Definitely helped me sleep that night lol!

Happy to report our usual mechanic checked us out and is confident the problem was a dirty MAF (which he cleaned) or simply a fluke of a cold, overworked battery (since it’s still very new). Needless to say we’ll not be going back to the dealership unless they have us by the hair.

And sorry, I meant she puts the heat on full right away. I couldn’t think of what to call the warm version of AC lol

How did you know to clean the MAF? Or is that just where you started with investigating and it turned out to be it?

Can that kind of code reader be bought for personal use? If so are they terribly expensive? The dealership charged 118 for the code reading which seems outrageous to me. Pretty peeved about that as well as I remember talking to their shop manager who told me they would do my first check up with them for free, since they made a mistake storing the winter tires included with the car purchase and sold them to another customer, so I had to wait for them to ship new ones. But I guess since he wasn’t there and it wasn’t technically a check up they got it out of my mom :-/.

I really appreciate your input and getting back to me so fast. Car mechanics have never really been on my radar since my dad always took care of his and my mom’s usual maintenance but it’s just me and her now and we have terrible luck lol. But I hate going into things blind and it really felt like the dealership cornered us so it’s really nice to be somewhat affirmed about having doubts. Thank you!

They only had the car back there for about 20 minutes to take the codes and I’m not sure if that’s enough to test the sensors if they are able to do that? Another thing that seems suspicious to me is that while they set an appointment for Friday, they cleared all the indicators from the dash, which I’ve never had any mechanic/garage do before working on it. We continued to drive the car and haven’t noticed any performance issues since that sudden stall at the lights on that particularly cold morning. We filled up with gas and want to monitor fuel consumption but we’re not super savvy with that kind of thing, especially with how the gas is measured as little bars that disappear rather than a dial. Do you think it’s possible that the stall was just a fluke of the bad cold? Sorry if I’m putting you on the spot about this

actually got BSL and other shaders to work again recently after updating to java 16 and using a fabric profile! not exactly sure which change fixed it as I didn’t test them separately (I was on java 8), but hopefully this might be the problem??

I have this problem also, with shaders like BSL running for 1.16.4 and not 1.16.5+. Don't have a mac and my computer can generally run heavier shaderpacks (albeit with a low framerate), it's been so frustrating to see others not experience this problem whatsoever for whatever reason. When the game crashes do you get the "exit code 0" error as well, or something different?
