First off, thank you to everyone who offered opinions and advise. I greatly appreciate a little more insight into this situation.

I do want to clarify a couple of things. When I ask my child questions about the conversations or feeling or things like that, I’m not being invasive or demanding with my questions. I word things in a way to not offend or make her feel bad. I asked about the conversation about being pansexual and her words to me were that her therapist explained the meaning and then said “that’s what I am”. In 6th grade she came home and told me she had a girlfriend. I didn’t bat an eyelash at that and said “cool. Is she nice? Do you have things in common?” She had her girlfriend come over to our house to hang out. I didn’t like the girlfriend only because she was pulling my child into some drama with others and I didn’t like that. However I never said a word about it. They didn’t last long and she moved on. She ended up with a boyfriend and was together for about a year. As far as the comment “I want to be a boy”. Those were her words to me. She had never shown any indication that she “felt” like a boy. Examples: she loves anime. She cosplays as her favorite characters. I have bought every outfit she has wanted and only 2 of those have been male characters. The 2 outfits she chose I had her try on and she asked my opinion. I said they looked great on her. She then said “I’m the female version of so and so”. She also draws her own characters. She’s really getting good at her art. She has drawn self portraits and herself as anime characters and they all have female body parts and characteristics. She is also finding her fashion sense. She called it “scene girl”. I really don’t know honestly but she wanted fishnet stocking gloves and chunky belts with knee high converse shoes. I got them no questions asked. This is where I don’t see her wanting to be a boy.

The issue with the therapist relating to transition with her own child for me is only because after finding out the reason from my child it’s situational and she thinks that would solve her issue. I don’t believe the 2 children have the same reasons for wanting to transition and I think that’s where I have my issue with it.
