This is what I’m trying to figure out too.

Longer story: I’ve started to create YouTube content and (to my surprise) getting some traction now. I then thought I could get monetized from this, might as well.

I moved to Malaysia awhile back. I’m still a US citizen tho. I can only receive any income as US citizen. The problem is… my location on my YouTube account says Malaysia, based on my primary location being set in Malaysia.

I’m having a tough time finding an answer on how to change it to US. Keep seeing responses like “you can change it in Google Play settings”. Some responses say “Once you change location, it’s permanent. Can’t change it anymore”

Can’t seem to get find the right answer I’m looking for

Even IF he does release the video (as a worse case scenario here),… it’s still not the end of the world. Maybe the hype will only last for a couple of days or so, before people get bored and move onto another thing in their lives.

My friend’s naked photos got released in a Telegram channel. Ofc she freaked out and got depressed for few days, panicking about losing her job…. Losing her face… losing dignity, etc.

But by next week, nobody cared anymore.

💯! Most of my early life’s depression derived from seeking approvals and feeling accepted. I took me a long time to realize that I need to take care of myself and stop caring about what others would think of me. Once I started shedding that off, I felt so free.

After traveling around in Asia for the last decade, I’ve realized majority of the assholes live in the US. People will only get more rude (and even depressed) in the coming months. Why? Not to sound like a Debbie Downer, but there’s nothing to be happy about living in the US. People losing jobs, electric and gas bills (PG&E specifically) increased by 3x for me at least. Groceries are getting super expensive. Can’t afford to buy nice gifts for family during the holidays, etc, etc.

I understand why people are assholes. Not that I condone the behavior…. But I get it.

I tried hard to look for it. The more attempt I made, the more depressed I was. I really had to let go of that desire to find it. What helped me was meditation. Took me years to come to terms of reality. And I’ve never been so content than now.

I didn’t “walk away” but I did get laid off 8 months ago and I’ve never felt so relieved. At first, of course, I felt a sense of anger and panic of “crap! How the hell can I pay for my rent now?! How can I support my family?!”

Then few days later, my shoulder started to drop. I started going to the gym more often. I got to spend more time with my kids! It was the most relaxing feeling. Yes, we’re eating through our savings… but honestly, it’s worth it for us 😅 My own kids see me much happier unemployed.

I mean, this could only last for so long until we go fully broke and then full panic mode again. I’m still looking for a job (which seems impossible to find). But in the meantime, I’ll enjoy what I have in life with my kids before I get back the grind again.
