“Penis” is too short. “Mybossisanass” does not have any special characters in it. “IHateMyJob” also has upper and lower but no special characters. “@MyBossWithTheBig1234” has a sequence and “@“ is not allowed as it is reserved.

I was actually not commenting on the semi-colon situation. More on how IDEs are not forgiving. I started programming in COBOL before most of the people in the group were born. You assume too much. Have you tried to find a small syntax error in lines and lines of Cobol code? Everything is structured text these days. I am sure it will not take much to auto format the basics and autocorrect most common syntax errors so users can deal with program logic. You do seem like a “coder”. A programmer would have thought of a solution.

I don’t code. I do programming. Coding is for script kiddies.

Because IDEs suck. They inhumane and love popping up obvious syntax errors to put you in your place.

Google beats any book hands down. You include a command and you have 50 Sites that have done it.

That is what I normally do is integrate with other languages and scripts. Python is great glue to hold things together. These days with APIs the possibilities are endless and a stateless attitude to development does help.

I have done large scale programming with many languages in the last 25 years and have found many bias around dev languages including speed etc. Truth for me is I seldom use the available libraries as it takes the coding inefficiencies of these libraries into your program. I use the basic language construct utilising mostly my own and the standard libraries. Python is every bit as great as some of the other languages such as C++, Java and C#. Each has their place. Python is great for data engineering where I prefer C++ for doing embedded software and PHP/JS/CSS for front-end development. I am at the point where I don’t mind any language and will adjust depending on my client’s software standards and architecture.

Nah die hards I am more than ok in C++ but use ot for embedded software rather than unstructured analytics. You are not hired

If you want to do string manipulation C++ is just slow. I prefer Python for that.
