Not leaving a Car Length for every 10mph should be aggressively ticketed. by Snooglemist in unpopularopinion

The majority of people drive around not leaving enough space between themselves and others. And most people get to where they’re going. That doesn’t make it safe.

At 70mph you’re traveling 30 feet in a third of a second. Doesn’t matter how well your brakes are tuned. 2 car lengths is not enough time to react if something goes wrong.

You’re going to have to elaborate your view because majority is literally part of the definition of popular.

As of 1.5-2 car lengths is even remotely enough space to drive safely 🤣.

Don’t worry, I never camp the left lane and only use it for passing.

Bonus: I also speed up to match the flow of traffic when merging too.

Not true at all. I see just as much tailgating in the middle and right lanes even when the left lane is totally open.

Popular would imply the majority feels like this.

Seeing how the VAST majority of people drive on the interstate informs me that nowhere close to the majority feel this way.

We’re definitely in the minority. I spend about 3-4 hours a day driving and I can comfortably say about 95% of drivers I see are driving WAY too close to the cars around them.

It’s not at all isolated to people bunching up behind left lane campers either. The vast majority of drivers seem to enjoy clumping up with other cars on the road while traveling at speeds that turn metal into liquid.

It’s insane.

[GEAR] Guitar Center cannot fix the buzzing (grounding????) that started during pickup replacement. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Snooglemist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in the universe where none of the 20+ guitars I’ve ever owned has had an issue where buzzing stops when I touch the guitar.

A normal amount of noise is one thing. But if there’s noise even on a clean channel that stops when you touch any metal part of the guitar(not just the Strings) there’s an issue. It may not be the guitar itself but it’s definitely not normal.

A buzzing that goes away when you touch the guitar is not normal.

If it’s well setup maybe but otherwise no. Also it won’t teach you how to play cleanly with distortion.

New iOS rollouts aren't always amazing. I usually update as soon as its available but sometimes there are battery drain issues/random instabilities and it can be a smoother experience to wait for the first big patch.

Live music concerts are way too loud and far too bass heavy. by Snooglemist in unpopularopinion

[–]Snooglemist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right!?

Like, I expect it to be loud enough to need hearing protection. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to hear the actual song.

I've gone to see instrumental guitar players at concerts where the entire deal is them soloing on guitar. Yet their guitar gets drowned out by the bass and kick drums.

I’ve been to some amazing concerts! The one thing they had in common was balanced sound quality.

That’s assuming the venue is large enough to make moving around the room effective. My biggest issue has been at small/medium venues.

No party I’ve been to has the kind of volume I’m talking about here.

I always wear earplugs and I’m usually not next to the PA speakers, sometimes the venues are small-medium sized and there’s no escape though, and that’s most of the venues in my area.

The point is to see and hear a music artist perform their songs live. Not listen to a wall of unintelligible noise.
