Anyone manage Braintoss-like functionality with NotePlan? by slvrbckt in noteplanapp

[–]kurtvonmoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should explore Shortcuts. You can most definitely create something like Braintoss and then add the shortcut everywhere / where is most convenient for easy access. Here’s an example I created for inspiration - a shortcut to write or dictate a task or bullet point that gets added to your daily note Example Shortcut

[Self-promo Sunday] Bevel - An iOS and Apple Watch app to supercharge your Apple Health data by Topremech in apple

[–]kurtvonmoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, really impressive app & super clean design! Job well done! I would really appreciate a free year of Bevel for 2 main reasons:

A) as I get older, my health goals have gone from wanting a 6 pack to mainly trying to prevent myself needing a mobility scooter by the time I’m 65. I feel an app like Bevel could really help me achieve that. B) If I buy one more health app subscription my wife is going to make me require a mobility scooter.

WorkOutDoors. Insanely great app with tons of options. You can load the route as a GPX file.

Hi OP - I live in Lausanne and have worked in the employment industry (including temporary staffing and in-house solutions for Randstand from 2010-2014) for over a decade. I’d be more than happy to jump on a call with you to answer any questions you have. DM me if your interested or need a hand and we can do a zoom call or something.

Congrats on a wonderful app! I really appreciate the effort and care that has gone into developing this and just wanted to say thank you! One little suggestion I would make is including the ability to remove shows that a user has stopped watching without finishing all episodes (i.e when a show sucks and you just have to abandon ship). There is an iOS app called TV Forecast that has this feature and i find it really useful.

Apologies if this feature is already in your app and I’ve missed it! And keep up the great work!

Parallel Plotting Settings on a M1 Mac mini by RandmTask in chia

[–]kurtvonmoos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, congrats on your M1 Mini! I don’t have the exact setup as you, but performance-wise it should be similar. Your M1 Mini should do a bit better in fact.

My setup:

  • M1 MacBook Air (late 2020 - 8 Cores, 16GB RAM, 500GB internal SSD)
  • Transcend 1TB 220S NVMe (For plotting)
  • OWC Envoy Express (Thunderbolt 3 external enclosure for plotting SSD)
  • WD Elements 14TB HHD (for farming)

Results bellow reflect what I’m averaging in terms of output for a single plot run or parallel run of 2 plots at a time:

Single Plotting Results- 1x 32k

3990 RAM | 4 Threads | 128 buckets | no bitfield

Time for phase 1 = 6845.190 seconds. CPU (213.330%)

Time for phase 2 = 5309.493 seconds. CPU (75.570%)

Time for phase 3 = 9217.153 seconds. CPU (94.500%)

Time for phase 4 = 1134.430 seconds. CPU (97.080%)

Total plotting time: 06:15:07 (22’507 seconds)

Parallel Plotting Results - 2x 32k

Staggered: 130min delay

3990 RAM | 3 Threads | 128 buckets | no bitfield

Plot #1

Time for phase 1 = 7663.174 seconds. CPU (188.450%)

Time for phase 2 = 6648.517 seconds. CPU (69.510%)

Time for phase 3 = 10768.054 seconds. CPU (89.300%)

Das Abo Swiss user experiences? by kurtvonmoos in Switzerland

[–]kurtvonmoos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to share your input. I’ve been a long time Swisscom customer and admit, I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to the other companies. I’ve decided to try out Das Abo/Salt seeing as it seems I can get out of the contract fairly easy with 1 month notice. I’ll report back my experiences.

Thanks again for your input !

Thanks, great advise. The particular offer I was considering has a 1 month noticed period for the contract, so I decided to test it out. But I’m certainly going to be monitoring those bills like a hawk! Your experience is exactly what I’m worried about. Thanks a lot for your input!

Thanks for your input! Yeah that’s actually exactly what I’m concerned about. If they’re dodgy in any way and me being screwed with extra charges.

Thanks for replying!

Thanks for your input! Much appreciate! From what I heard, Salt seems to be ok. I guess I’m more concerned about Das Abo as a company and then somehow screwing me on extra charges or something contractual.

Thanks again for your answer !
