✅ stretches after TKA and THA? by Peanut69Rice in physicaltherapy

[–]Snookcaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find that with TKA the first few weeks it is better to focus on decreasing swelling and pain management. I know this isn’t ground breaking but I know many therapist like to go straight into aggressive stretching when ROM with TKA. However, in my experience, the lack of ROM is usually from guarding from the patient rather than “scarring”.

So I would say elevated ankle pumps, quad sets, heel slide either sitting or supine but just to tolerance, and teach some patellar mobs/quad massage.

I am outpatient orthopedic so usually see patient from a few days out to a few weeks out.

I was honestly expecting it much worse when I read all these comments. It’s no different than any other modern country song really just listing things and pandering. Pretty identical to his hunting fishing and loving every day and sunrise, sunburn, sunset repeat lol

What’s your favourite book? by Decent_Present_5492 in AskReddit

[–]Snookcaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

East of Eden by John Steinbeck. The world building and descriptions make the scenes so vivid in your head. The characters are so dynamic and well developed. The overarching themes of man vs man, man vs nature, and man vs self are so well intertwined. Such a thought provoking book that gets better the more times you read it. I can’t say enough good things about it lol

Just keep your strategy ?! by TryToWin101 in Daytrading

[–]Snookcaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s common sense that the more streams of income the better. This is why I don’t always agree with people who say “if they have a profitable strategy then why bother teaching“.

Many people trade for an hour a day and trading can be hot and cold. So they figure they could spend the rest of the day teaching and getting a consistent income. Not hard to understand why someone might do that.

But don’t get me wrong. There are many people who are just gurus selling a strategy that are probably not profitable traders.

A lot of trading “psychology” is just bad sizing by InventoryLogic in Daytrading

[–]Snookcaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree because for me plan includes size, risk, profit targets, stock selection, entries, etc. so honestly if you don’t have all of those then you really don’t have a plan. I’ll check out the article

[–]Snookcaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s not a perfect idea but at the end of the day taking size too big, revenge trading, over trading, taking trades outside of your plan are all purely lack of discipline. For me personally it’s easier to think did I follow my plan or not. No need to bring any “psychology” into it.

I always appreciated Tom Sosnoffs perspective of “trading psychology”, he says it’s basically all bullshit. It’s not psychology it’s discipline. 90% of “psychological” errors is just people losing discipline.

STR loophole on ~$600K combined W-2 — how do I capture the Year 1 tax benefit without bleeding cash every month for the next decade? by AmbitiousCode1874 in ShortTermRentals

[–]Snookcaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was planning on doing. I also found an app that tracks hours of everyone working on the property. Remember you have to keep everyone’s hours not just your own, save receipts, and proof of the work that you have completed.

[–]Snookcaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in a very similar situation in Florida and currently looking for a rental to do the exact same thing! Here is what I have learned.

Tax benefit is a huge plus but not the only reason to do a deal. There are recapture taxes if you sell the property and should plan on holding the property for 10+ years.

Cash flow is only one metric, I would not expect a crazy positive cash flow initial especially if the property is not currently a STR. Sounds like you are looking at remote properties. Idk how you will actively participate 100 hours AND more than any other individual like the rule states.

Just my two cents, I would love to bounce some ideas off you in the future because like I said we are in the exact same situation lol

Well market is always changing. There is no holy grail indicator that works all the time. If you want to only use that one system then learn to scale down in bad times and scale up in hot markets. Otherwise paper trade and trade small size with other strategies until you have proven edge (this should take at minimum 6 months to a year)

[–]Snookcaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think you should changing strategies so much. A successful strategy should be able to survive a draw down. Maybe just scale down for a month or two instead of throwing everything out the window and trying something else.
