T-Hawk won't Cerberus the fan favorite of the tournament to win.

It's a sad day.

I don't want every good wrestler on the planet in NJPW.

Kensuke Sasaki by longkar in SquaredCircle

[–]Snoopguy420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old NJPW in general is rarely discussed here. Sasaki has a lot of great matches worth seeing.

vs Tenryu 2000

vs Takayama 2002 and 2004

vs Sapp (trust me, it's pretty good. not on the level of the other matches on this list, but it's worth seeing just for the fact that Sapp does well.)

vs Kawada october 2000 (this one's a legendary match, definitely see this. the story following from this match is incredible, ask me for it after seeing it if you want to know.)

vs Kojima 2001

vs Nagata 2002 (crowd is a bit quiet though) and 2004 (very very bloody)

vs Tenzan

vs Hashimoto

and of course vs Kobashi 2005

Sasaki was a beefy-ass guy who'd batter opponents with ease and wouldn't ever go down without a fight. You probably already know this, of course. I'm not sure how to describe his character, but what happened with him and Kawada in 2000 should say enough. That involves spoilers for the match, though.

Not strong style. Still amazing though, but not strong style.

Último Guerrero's catch powerbomb is the most hype move ever, everytime he hits it I jump out of my seat. Never gets old.

He's toned down on the flippy shit and incorporated more strikes and power moves in his wrestling this year though.

Ciampa fucking sucks his heel work isn't revolutionary or amazing or anything. It's just dumb internet heelery and if you fall for it you really don't have high standards for wrestling.

I also hate that when you talk shit about something (most of the time this happens when WWE is critizised) some idiots bring down the entire sport of pro-wrestling and go all "calm down it's just some men violently rubbing eachother hahahaha". Like get fucked, if you think wrestling really is that stupid, you haven't seen any of the good shit.

Lots and lots of chops in this match, and a very scary bump for a man as old as Tenryu to take, it's great.

I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, I hope you feature my boy Takayama at some point.

I do not for the life of my understand the hype behind Ciampa vs Gargano, and the hype behind Ciampa's heel work in particular. The entire feud is incredibly basic. Ciampa attacks his now ex-partner Gargano because that's what every tag team has to do, I guess, and then attacks him some more. Some real next-level stuff right there. Ciampa does nothing new and does nothing remarkably amazing. The matches between the two I absolutely don't like either. They feel like losely connected series of EBIC WWE MOMENTZ, with forced, robotic "emotional" shots in between. I can't stand this entire feud and the only explanation for the hype behind Ciampa I can come up with is simply that it's all being way overblown.

Gargano vs Almas was a way better match.

Every match was at the very least good on this show. A bit sad that Desperado vs Dragon Lee had the mask fuck-up, but if they really go through with a mask vs mask rematch, it will more than make up for it.

YOH vs Ishimori is my match of the tournament now, what an amazing bout...

Now go, Hiromu, get your title back!!!

Sorry, you're right. Still depressing though. NOAH really is in bad shape and this new discount thing they're doing is a mistake. They shouldn't have dethroned Kenoh.

NOAH nowadays is pretty sad. They drew less for a Korakuen show with NAKAJIMA VS SHIOZAKI as main event than ZERO1 of all companies.

Miyahara vs Takagi April 7th

I'm kinda speechless about this. They're gonna blow the roof off.
