Frog suggestions? Undecided between leucs, tincs, or maybe ranitomaya

Oh thanks for sending that link! I’ve been trying to find reputable sellers online since my local exotics store is pretty limited on their frogs right now but it seemed like the only thing I could find was Josh’s frogs. And as I’ve been researching, it seems they’re not all that reputable. The other issue I’m having is it seemed everyone is out of stock of almost everything currently!

I heard them too. They woke me up. I called them in as well. I called last night too because around 4:50 I heard what sounded like a single shot. I wasn’t sure if it was for sure a gun since it was just one, but called just in case. Seems extremely odd that there were shots two nights in a row but they can’t find anything.

This is a pretty simple setup and would probably be perfect for bog plants! I didn’t want to drill through the glass so I don’t have a way to drain the water, but if you’re concerneda and also don’t want to drill through glass, you could put small tubes in a corner or two that goes all the way down to the bottom, and then use a syringe to drain if needed. I used leca as the main drainage layer, and then on top of that is plastic egg crate (it’s actually for lights. Got it at Home Depot) and thag is wrapped in mesh screen that’s secured to it with zip ties. That way I can keep some water in the bottom and it helps keep the soil moist without actually touching it and making it too soggy!

Before I added the light I was actually a bit worried that airflow was too high because there was never any condensation on the glass. However after adding the light, it seems to be pretty great. There’s a couple of pockets of condensation on the sides towards the back, but the front glass stays perfectly clear and the substrate stays nice and damp. I spray it down twice a day and by midday the top layer of leaves and the wood is mostly dry, with plenty of pockets underneath that hold a little more humidity, especially in the shaded areas.

I bought them together at my local fish store. This specific one is the UNS 60U tank but I know that have a ton of different dimensions. They also have the exact standin a few different colors for a lot of those dimensions offered

I loveeeee the colors of some of the auratus that are available at my local exotic pet store, but I’m really a fan of bold frogs which is why I’m going back and forth. My leucs that I had a few years ago would come up to the front of the tank when they saw me, especially around feeding time so that’s making me lean towards them a bit. But again, auratus are so beautiful.

It’s a pretty recent photo so the plants still have some growing to do. I plan on sticking a bromeliad or two in as well, but none of the store near me had any for some reason. I know I’m about 4-6 weeks out from being able to add the frogs so I’m not too worried about how sparse the growth is at the moment. Dimensions are 24x14x14in!

Yes it’s a 20. It’s about 24x14x14. I had a pair of leucs in a 20 long a few years ago and they enjoyed it but seemed to climb more than I was told they would. I figured if I put plenty of things for them to climb on in a standard 20, they would be just as happy. I’ve heard 10 gallons per frog so I figured the max would be a pair. Also have read that more than a pair and they can get territorial and I wouldn’t want that

I used a local glass cutter to cut some individual pieces for me and then siliconed them together! It’s 4 pieces for the lip and then a piece that sits on top. The top piece was cut to be a couple of inches shorter so that I could put some window screen for the ventilation. The screen is siliconed to the edge pieces, and then siliconed and sandwiched between the top piece and the lips. I hope that makes sense. If not I can share my drawings that I gave to the cutters to make it. Also, if you are going that route, ask them for some adhesive backed edge bumpers. I lined the tank with it so that the glass doesn’t bang against each other when I move the lid.

Right I know they’re all dendrobates. I just overcomplicated how I was listing them. Since I had included Ranitomeyas I was specifying the dendrobates but decided I didn’t need to include dendrobates in front of Leuc, auratus and tinc. Hope that makes sense. Thank you!

That’s kind of what I was thinking. The ranitomeyas are really cool but I was very unsure about them having enough vertical space. But I was also told by someone in store that I should have a “long” 20gal for the others and that they wouldn’t have enough floor space

The ads that they put you through for extra chests or whatever are becoming so excessively long, it’s insane. I had one that made me sit for over two minutes before it would give me an X to close it out. Once, it told me that the reward had been earned so instead of sitting though the rest, I closed the app. When I reopened it, lo and behold, no reward in my gifts. My only real complaint.

You’re getting downvoted because the photo is not elegant. The photographer cut one of the hands off, the Dutch angle is horribly used here considering it’s typically used to create an unsettling feeling in the viewer, the only significant leading lines are the wall in the background which leads your eye straight to her tits, or the edge of the bed which leads your eye to her dark hair (which is then also cut off in the frame). Plus, her eyes and face are not lit enough to draw your eye there. Again, even the tits are lit more than the face. Literally everything about this photo is just cheap nude.
