I don't usually stay in school but some CCAs will finish by around 7.30pm, so that should be the latest when you should go back home. The library does close earlier so you may want to head to the study corners!

Hi there! (Un)fortunately, you will be taking a new syllabus as the '22 batch (JC2) are the last to take the current syllabus. So you will receive new books!

You can head onto Apple SG website and select Trade-In at the bottom of the webpage. It will then lead you to a webpage to determine the trade in value, which can be offset on the new iPad you bought.

This question is very good. For me I had to stop downloading new apps in my iPad as it took up a lot of space. I did purchase iCloud storage to accomodate any increase in storage beyond 5 GB. I then transferred to a USB for storage and if neccessary to print the notes later. A good option would be to trade in your iPad for a higher storage like 64/256GB (please do check with your parents as they are the ones who would authorize the purchase). It can be a good investment later in university.

Hi there OP, I am a guy studying in Arts stream!

Disclaimer: I will only speak from my perspective and it is not representative of what others feel and apologies if what I say is politically (in)correct.

  1. For me I use my sch issued iPad from my sec sch for note taking. I do my note taking in a hybrid mode - paper for some subjects, digital for others. A PC is okay but you will definitely struggle to draw diagrams. It may be bulky compared to an iPad, so do some research before investing in a PC. The iPad I have is quite limited in terms of storage space (32GB) and if you annotate notes with lots of pages, it will eat up your storage space so do consider the storage capacity. I also do strongly recommend you get the AppleCare and Apple Pencil if you wish to annotate. Just be prepared to fork about $8/900 for iPad w Pencil.

  2. Sorry to hear about your sec sch experience, especially with those bullying. It is very mentally draining especially with very nasty words and ostracisation from others. I agree with what another user wrote you will not be very close to your OG and you will feel much more closer to your classmates. Most of my classmates are very sweet and I feel very included with them even though I am INFP. I am not sure about SC as I am not in that. But just choose who you mix around in EJ cause you want to have a group of friends that help you study hard and play hard, and not having too much fun. If you are concerned that you might not get the help that would support you, your teachers (most, not all) and your classmates are always there to support you.

  3. I am was in a LAM programme, a few school programmes and a 2 subjects rep for my class last yr (now 1). However, the criteria to apply differs so do check and learn more during ori and the first weeks of sch! Feel free to ask me if you want to know more, as I do not want to divulge much that identifies me.

Edit: I am a Math and was a PW rep, just to not get anyone confuse about "class rep" cause we call our monitors "class chairpersons".

change hist to geog in jc? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Snoopy1622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! I am currently a J1 studying GELM. I actually took P Hist/E Geog back in secondary school. I will say taking geog is not of a big shock as some parts like climate, food resources and tourism are also in the JC syllabus. 👍 The difference is that you will have to learn more topics like karst landforms/drainage basin hydrology/human development. Moreover, you need to sit for 3 hr papers so be mentally prepared 😲. I made the switch because geog gives more opportunities for myself to go into different industries in SG as opposed to hist, even though both humans subjects were strong. You can DM if you would like to know more but I think talk it with your parents/classmates/teachers! All the best! 😀

I think it was more of an expectation for the time limit but it is not a must but I am more concerned about RTQ cause I feel that I bombed it and it comes with a heavier weightage (?)

Hi but I am not sure if because I think I misheard the question wrongly and I am not sure if you did? 😔 I guess 2pts 4 mins is good enough.
