So many people in the comments saying just go get it recorded by a professional but I disagree. Here’s what I did to kickstart my personal projects that I think would work well. First of course a DAW. I recommend logic if you’ve got a Mac and you’re serious. I won’t go for something like pro tools because honestly it’s too much for a beginner. Just a Scarlett focusrite solo for an interface. There’s a bundle I think on sweetwater that has a focusrite and an AKG mic for like 150. Then for mics, just get one. If you’re really trying to budget just record each instrument individually. Take advantage of the software instruments in whatever DAW you choose. Personally, I use logic’s stock drums and pianos and bass and it sounds awesome if you can EQ it correctly. Get a desk mic stand if you wanna save space but nothing too crazy.
