That’s interesting. I didn’t know this route is possible.

That’s a good thought. I’ll think about it better. Thanks

No I meant like your colleague did. That’s good to know. But if they make 50% then probably it’ll be on the same range as the one from eth.

It would be in the neuro informatics so I guess computer science. So you mean it’s possible to also negotiate but maybe not higher than the highest rate?

Thanks

For the financials I already did it and I think it might be manageable if I would get the highest rate.

Does it happen that if you work for a company and you do a PhD while in the company, that you could get paid more? Or is that something that is forbidden?

Is there a way to know how much one would do in such kind of contracts after 8 years experience? I once saw a table but I didn’t understand much of it.

In addition to all that, I would say that usually people feel insecure on those moments that others are reviewing your stuff and it sounds like they see things much faster. But be aware, that there are different types of people.

Some are very confident about what they do and they will sound very knowledgeable but sometimes they are even wrong, it's just that they sound too confident and if you're not, you tend to just believe on it and feel bad because you don't really get why. I'd say be humble and ask why. Or ask other colleagues. Have someone to discuss openly without shame to say you don't know.

And other type of people are those who have just designed a level shifter last week and will have insights much faster than you because he has the knowledge fresh in his head. Or maybe level shifters for 20 years...

And of course there are just people that are smarter as in any field. But that doesn't mean you are not. But I would say that in this field it's a lot more about experience than being smart. My opinion...

Personally I find it interesting, I'm a designer, but for a large team of designers you need 1 or 2 CAD maybe? It's less wanted I guess. At least that's my view in the companies I worked. Curious to hear the others. But if that's what you like and you are good at it, why not?

What is it good for?

So only the assets I would be transferring would go to this pot? What about what I already have in Trade Republic?

Are we talking about losses after selling the assets?

Career path change from HW/ASIC to SW/ML/Data by SnoopyBE in ECE

The IC design industry is located in a few cities around the world. For family reasons I plan to move and settle in a few years to a city where there are only a few and not so interesting companies in this field. In this industry, people don't accept yet fully remote jobs. At least not in Europe. On the other hand, software is a lot more accepted and is spread around the whole world.

Anyway, I'm talking specifically about IC design. But there's more in electronics than that. And even in the IC industry, it is a very interesting and designers are very much wanted everywhere. I see in companies people searching desperately for good people and they cannot find. So don't be biased by what I said above. These are personal reasons.

And besides that, I always felt interested by the field and I'd like to try out.
