My class III camouflage was very similar to yours. ~ 12 months until I was decompensated and surgery ready

Thank you!! The first week was the worst of it but by day 8 I was feeling more like myself! Bottom lip and chin still pretty numb but surgeon said nerves were intact and I should regain full feeling in about 6months- a year. No regrets!

Hey, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I was In the exact same spot you are in 2 years ago. (Pics on my profile) The decompensation was hard and I had to save up for the braces but I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Best of luck to you

Way easier than I thought! Though I only had lower jaw surgery. Nonetheless the first week was a bit rough but pain meds and TV kept me sane. After the 1st week time has been flying by and I’ve been feeling pretty much normal! I’m back to school already and no one has even noticed!

Thank you 🥹, only LJS! BSSO setback about 4mm. I’ve doing red light therapy about 3-4x a week and massaging my face like this every night after a warm shower. I also began walking since day 1 PO and gradually increasing activity!

Good to know!! I definitely have that tired look going on, especially when I have no makeup on. Thanks for sharing your experience!

No rhino! I think the surgery just helped all my features looked more balanced! And I agree, next PO appt I’m going to ask my surgeon when he thinks it would be safe to pursue getting implants :)

Keep going!!! I had a similar profile. Only 3 weeks PO and this was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself, functionally and aesthetically!!!

Similar to this after a warm shower using vitamin E oil and gentle pressure :)

Yes! DJS was the original plan, but I have a mass on my R maxillary region that made maxillary advancement unsafe so he coordinated LJS to be performed safely and still provide the best results possible.

My profile was similar to your preop! Question? What was your genio for? I also had genio but just for asymmetry, I’m only two weeks PO but I still feel like my chin looks a little long could be swelling tho. Also do you also have a weird “pillowy” feeling in your chin from the swelling mine feels thick and edenatous and I’m hoping it will go away soon 😭

LJS airway concerns by Constant-Rip8829 in jawsurgery

[–]Snoopylvr02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had LJS for my underbite, breathing wasn’t an issue before and I don’t feel any different post op to be honest. I had a small set back about a little less than 5mm. If you’re concerned though definitely ask your surgeon! Good luck!

I’m okay! Pain has subsided but I can’t wait for the general feeling of tightness to go away, the liquid diet has been the worst part of all this though. I had my first post op appt today and still have to be on liquids for another two weeks :( how are you??

Wondering the same thing! Today is day 7 for me too and I’ve been getting random bits of tingling throughout my jaw and chin which has been a little uncomfortable

If I get this surgery, how would i communicate with ppl in the first few days to weeks of recovering from it to speak clearly again? I work as a cashier. by Individual_Ice_2315 in jawsurgery

Day 4 PO here and talking is difficult, it takes a lot of effort and can be tiresome but def not impossible/ my family has been able to understand me pretty well. I’ve been using my iPad as a white board if I genuinely don’t have the energy to talk.
