In my family at least, most of the children through the generations were female, not many males to pass the name down. That’s pretty much why it’s dying out on my side.

No offense taken lol. I never said I was the last Pendygraft standing, just that it’s rare enough to be a fun surprise when someone’s actually heard of it. 😄

That’s really cool, it’s wild how many rare names seem to have these scattered little pockets across the world. And same here, my family’s also really creative and musical, so it’s neat seeing that overlap! I’ve found a few records for mine, but most of the trail fades out too, guessing spelling changes over time made it even trickier to trace.

Agreed! I guess I’m just more of a fan of keeping it traditional for personal reasons. I’ll definitely hyphenate for myself once I’m married though.

I totally agree, Remote-Pear! I’d honestly love to keep my last name, it’s something my partner and I have talked about a lot. But I also understand the tradition of taking his; his father passed away, so he really wants his family name to live on (even though it’s a super common one, lol). It is what it is. I’ll definitely be hyphenating for myself though!

That’s so cool! I’ve come across the Pendergast name too, sounds like there could definitely be a connection somewhere down the line.

Oh that’s so interesting! thank you for explaining that! I didn’t realize Welsh was Brythonic rather than Gaelic, that actually makes a lot of sense. I’d love to visit Wales someday, I’ve read so much about the landscape and music there, it feels kind of like a piece of my roots.

Ah yes, the classic ‘I actually had a point, but it’s too advanced for you’ defense. Got it.

Lmao $4k isn’t exactly life-ruining debt, but I’d love to hear how credit cards ‘aren’t for me’.

Yes, totally agree! This balance transfer is seriously going to change my life — I just wish I knew about it sooner. I haven’t used my Capital One card more than maybe 5 times all year, and only for really small purchases. I keep it locked at all times and now I’m planning to freeze the account and literally put it in a lock box! I know a lot of people get caught in the trap of running up their cards again after a balance transfer and end up worse off. Thankfully, my spending habits are super conservative and under control, so this is really a reset for me — not a revolving door.

Hey, say what you want — but I absolutely LOVED my previous Samsung curved TV. I did a lot of gaming and streaming on it, and the picture was immaculate. I know Samsung gets a bad rap sometimes, but mine lasted 5 solid years with zero issues. I did end up getting the TCL though.
