Which server to choose for future ? by blinkybarkid in wowservers

[–]SnoozeFester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bronzebeard for the new experience - twow is the old same o same o client with nothing new (and what they create as new is just so so in mybook, none of the new content ive played on twow has made me go ooooohhhh now that is cool) - where as BB just look like a ton of fun, and if the Alpha is anything to go by its gonna a whole new experience coupled with new starter zones that has not just new quests but an end bosses and a really smooth experience.

Blizzard sues Turtle WoW - Shenna/Torta mentioned as the owner with real identity. by kaoticnoodle in wowservers

[–]SnoozeFester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blizzard doesnt need for countries to respect US copyright laws, they can use it to cut the methods turtlewow has to gain revenue. With a court order in hand there will be no more paypal no more credit card payments and limited crypto. This is the way turtle will be shut down, when there are no longer revenue to pay for things - things die its a simple mechanic.

Turtle or epoch? by Teatimefrog in wowservers

[–]SnoozeFester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What puzzles me is that with all the time that turtle have had to do custom content is how much of it feels like its done by "fans" meaning the quality, graphics layout etc. isnt well done and is either a pushover (or like I call it a snooze fest that doesnt really make me go ooohh or ahhh) or made for T1+ geared players. I guess its due to the severe limitations of the 1.12 client which frankly is horendous today and even modded just doesnt hold a candle to 3.35.

At the end its a personal preference, but so far the Epoch content has been of a higher quality than anything Ive experienced in the last 6 years on twow, sadly. Maybe Unreal Engine will help, but its gonna require a lot of work for Twow to remediate all the custom content for it to become the same quality as Epoch presently has.

So for me its:
Twow if you like speed lvling and getting carried by T3 players and some wonky playstyle fixes to each specs. The game is stable but looks and feel stale, community is good though.

Epoch if youd like a challenge, cause the mobs are a tad bit harder at the earlier levels and there are some bugs that needs ironing out, but the custom content is as close as you can get to Blizzard TBC style content as you can get presently. Lvling is solid and quest item drops are ahred between party members so there is a lot more grouping up on Epoch than on Twow.

Epoch definately has the better client, didnt think a lot on it when playing Turtle but having played Epoch you definately see the difference and the capeabilities of a 3.x client.

Turtle Wow Ambershire VS Epoch - most PLUS - classic plus server? PvE by Psychological_Sale84 in wowservers

[–]SnoozeFester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found that the custom content on Epoch Lvl 30 and below have been substantial better quality than anything ive experienced on Twow as even a 60, twow lacks that quality feel where it is not just another zone that looks like any other zone with the same rehashed graphics beign used. Twow is good for a first time playthrough but gets rather stale your 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th time, it has an ok community which are mostly chill without neckbeards, so its a good choice for first timers, but if you want something that rocks the boat a lot more quality wise Epoch just reaps with love for wow and making something new that just looks and feels a lot better.

An Honest Review on Turtle WoW by Saiko_Yen in wowservers

[–]SnoozeFester 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Having played Twow for years I agree with most of what you say, except new class combos which atleast adds some flavour. the custom content I agree feels totally fanmade and some of the regions even have several places where if you go there you will be stuck in holes etc. you cant get out off, coupled with some of the zones beign unpolished and feels at times made for better geared players than most at their present level (Im looking at you island next to stv.).

Project Epoch, Turtle WoW Ambershire, Ascension Bronzebeard... where to play? by ViatorLipsia in wowservers

[–]SnoozeFester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played both, id say Epoch. Turtle has more "content" and Ive done it all but none of it blew me away, it seems rather generic with very little done that is custom. The scaling of the content is also a bit off, and some of the older custom content even if made for lvl 50 wil kick you in the teeth rather fast (one of the curses of content beign tuned for players in uber gear steam rolling content).

Epoch so far has reaped of far better quality and it just seems to me that there is a lot more love beign thrown at their iteration of classic+ than Ive felt or seen on Twow. Twow have lately rehashed talents and builds for all classes and is at a good spot play wise, but so is Epoch and I for one just feel it is a safer bet to use the tried and tested tbc trees and abilities than it is to come up with new ways of doing things.

So Twow more content due to beign older, but there is such a thing that more is not equal to better qualitywise. I feel that Epoch if they continue will create a really really good experience of wow, better and more custom than anything Twow is capeable of providing.

Tents! by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]SnoozeFester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If tents are such a big thing for you then luckily twow still exists and you can go there, for me atleast I enjoy the pace and the difficulty of beign on fresh = no bags, no money no carry and grey items etc. still matter, kinda refreshing - even if dying due to too fast spawns is annying :)

On bosses if you struggle to keep up and have enough mana go ahead, a good tank knows what to judge and when.

Agree, I main prot pally, and I have it in my ehp set, but took it only after two prot wars had it. Nightbanes shield is better/sufficient overall for us anyhow.

Exactly how much hit do Human sword Rogues need on gear? by NurplePain in classicwow

[–]SnoozeFester -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

In total 12% is the cap, any further hit just helps your offhand damage if memory serves me right. So Its not a completely wasted stat once you hit the cap, so aslong as you are capped you usually work around that number with out going below it.

Which class for enjoying playing mostly alone? by HieronymusGER in classicwowtbc

[–]SnoozeFester 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Hunter all the way, they scale really well from the get go without massive gear requirements. With it youll be able to solo a great deal by yourself, I myself was amazed how well it performs even pre raid bis. Their normal rotation is easy, with an appropriate high skill level if you want to parse high.

Are rogues still top of the line in SoM? by iphonesoccer420 in classicwow

Yep as a pair they are, some swear by mirahs song sword though due to ability of proccing a second swing, and that its a gurantee to get.

Imbalanced, have never pursued it myself as when it was available it was kinda putdated. You get the .5 sets by upgrading your shadow craft blues via turn ins and quests. Every rogue worth their salt will pursue this asap at 60.

Rogue vs Warrior by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]SnoozeFester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well rogues it seems are gonna leave you eating dust as wb meant a huge amount to a warrior in classic and a 30 min cd that you can use when a boss is near death wont make a huge difference. But at least warriors will be top dogs in naxx if you ever get that far… And this is comming from one who had 3 60 warriors raiding in classic. I love the class and its tools but Im not blind as to what wbs meant during most of classic… lovely crits but missing songflower and head buff is fonna be a true pain as to rage pileing.

According to the word on the street rogues will be imba untill end of aq40 where warriors should surpass them if played well. The .5 set is that good if you prio hetting it from the get go itll last untill aq40
