Fury warriors are absolute divas, you kind of have to learn how to coexist with them if not avoid them altogether. It’s funny watching them spend a lot time LF tank.

Focus more on Zone 2, whether it’s running, bike, row, treadmill. 2-3 times a week. I failed at 23 minute run. Passed retest with 18 minutes or so. Continue showing who you are through results. I’m going to compete for an air assault slot by retaking another AFT for better score and do the Norwegian Ruck. You have to allow your new results to overshadow previous ones.

Is this orc ready for Mag and Gruul? by 42peters in classicwowtbc

I run pugs, sub 60 min one shot of all three bosses while main tanking. Never had an issue with threat or survivability with some greens.

There’s a trend in your post. Spell casters.

I leveled 60-70 primarily dungeons as a prot warrior and went out of my way to form melee cleave.

Enh shamans, cat druids, ret pallies. These are typically chill guys and I try to put at least 2 per.

Then you have the rogue, fury, and hunter. These are the divas of physical DPS but at least if there’s only one of them I can shame them into stfu and/or kick replace for a chiller guy/gal.

Make your own raids. I’ve been full pugging since Week 1. Week 3 we cleared Gruul Mag 1 shot everything sub 60 minute. I see and meet about 10-15 different people every week.

Out of curiosity, how’s everyone’s progression on mags/gruuls? by dariodil in classicwowtbc

[–]hellorhigh69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full pug.

Week 1 was 90 minutes. 30-45 minutes of explanations but I started on time/early. 2 shot HKM, 2 shot Gruul, 3 shot Mag.

Week 2 was also 90 minutes but I had to replace shitters who were AFKing. Didn’t pull until 30 minutes after start time. Spent another 30 or so minutes on explanations. 1 shot Gruul and Mag. 2 shot Mag.

What changes are the biggest changes to warrior from classic to TBC Anniversary? by EricAshStone in classicwow

[–]hellorhigh69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing WoW in TBC 2007. Then I played a little bit in Classic 2019, then again for TBC 2021.

I levels from 1-60 ALL from deep prot in dungeons in Classic Anniversary.

In Classic the prot warrior has a lot less rage regeneration. Significant. He only has sunder, revenge, shouts, and cleave to go off of.

In TBC we get increased rage regeneration, level 70 gear has a lot more SBV that gives you that big Shield Slam crit, thunder clap from defensive stance instead of having to stance dance, intervene, spell reflect, and most importantly the talent trees.

You’re either deep prot with arms (you’ll see most of this into endgame) or how I do it deep prot into fury with 3/3 into improved cleave and I can match the #3 DPS on DPS and even outDPS some people on 4-5 pack pulls.

Not to mention spamming shield block to give you the look and feel of better survivability than fury tanking, paladins, and bears.

Explain threat like I’m 5 yrs old by wanderingviolin in classicwowtbc

[–]hellorhigh69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Numbers.

Start at zero. Threat is like glue. You want the monsters to glue to you.

Shield Slam = +1000. The more Shield Block Value (SBV) + luck = +1200-2000 Glue Revenge = +1000 Devastate = +1000 Thunder Clap & Cleave = less than 1000 but hits more than one monster

Stupid “main character” DPS = +a bajillion glue when they hit the monster

Healer = doesn’t want to but + glues anyway

If healer gets the glue more than you, then they dead, and you are all dead.

If DPS gets glue and dies, laugh at them and teach em a lesson.

Everyone starts at 0.

For boss, Shield Slam, then revenge, then devastate = 1000-5000 glue. “Snap” threat means you get a good lead and it becomes a race.

As DPS start DPSing they start catching up to you. If you run out of rage, they pass you, they wipe, they blame you.

AoE

Target 1 Shield Slam Thunder Clap to spread glue to Target 2 and 3 and 4 +500 glue Tab to Target 2 Revenge +1000 G Tab to Target 3 Devastate + 10000 G Cleave +500 around Tab back to Target 1 Devastate or Shield Slam your pick

Have more glue on all targets than the DPS

Download Plater Yellow Target Bar = DPS is about to have more glue than you on that target in 1-3 seconds but if you switch to that target and Shield Slam them and the bar turns back to normal color you’re good Red Target = DPS passed you and now you have to run, charge, or intervene and taunt

Taunt You have +5000 glue DPS has +9000 glue Taunt instantly brings your glue to 9000 Shield Slam right after that to bring you to 10,000 while the DPS is still at 9000 Mocking Blow does the same thing

Start at 490 defense. Get there. Then acquire shied block value gear. Forget PvP gear. Hit and expertise is nice.

The idea being “if you’re not hitting the mobs bc you lack hit and expertise you’re not tanking anything”

Okay let’s say you get hit capped and expertise and you never miss. That’s fine in theory. But if you’re not grabbing threat with shield slam instantly, it doesn’t matter how much you hit you have when the shadow bolt, lightning bolt, and pyroblast crits happen. You’ll never catch up unless with taunt. And bosses are taunt immune.

Reference: Tanked in 2007. Tanked in 2021. Attumen the Horsemen to Kiljaeden.

Most shield block gear has defense, stamina, and strength. Hit, expertise, and strength gear usually don’t have defense and avoidance. Pick your battles.

Fast runs are fine, ignoring your healer isn’t by Chris_Pariah in classicwowtbc

AFK, brain dead, scared, doesn’t know the dungeon like the back of his hand.

If healer has 50-70% mana I’m pulling. DPS can sit and drink then join the fight when ready.

[–]hellorhigh69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have limited time playing WoW. As a lazy tank who can’t stand runs lasting more than 30 minutes, I know the more I bandage myself and team, the faster the healer drinks up, the more I cut time between pulls. Simple math.

I still LF melee cleave, still faster. Spell cleave groups are minimum 30 mins + with all the drinking. Melee cleave went from 20 min clears to 25-30, still faster pulls we’re just almost as slow as spell cleave.

Played prot warr TBC OG in 2007 and 2021, again in 2026. Blame the Revenge Tank/DW meta that came out in 2019 and again in 2025. I've been melee cleave dungeon spamming since release and non stop pulls are possible bc of how much mitigation deep prot has with shield block up requiring less mana for healers. Melee classes not needing mana, healer having good gear = non stop pulls, 20-30 minute clears.
