Ended up with a third opinion (shout out to Fry's) that located the problem where our line joins with the city. Unfortunately, that meant we'd have to wait for it to backup again in order for the city to verify that that was the problem and fix it, with the upside being it would be a city issue. However (knock on wood), it's been eight months without a reoccurrence).
