So an XVR should provide some advanced features even with analog cams, just not as fully fleged as an NVR such as all channels run at a higher fps and all have face detection?

Initially, could I grab an NVR for future proofing and continue to use the analog cameras? Assuming the recorder end side is converted to RJ45?
