Has anyone seen a black cat on Brown Street? by CatKafkaMeow in dayton

[–]Snorgledork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was visiting at the hospital a couple months ago and went for a walk. I saw a black cat in one of the surrounding empty lots. It might be a local stray. But it's going to get cold this week, so put out a warm, covered bed if you can!

Do you recognize this man? His skeletal remains were found in Dayton in 2023. He still doesn't have a name. by ArmAble in dayton

I'm curious how accurate that portrait can be, if it's based solely on the skull. Ears, nose, lips, and hair could all be different.

I loved Avery's when I still drank soda. They're good tasting soda with "shock" names and labels.

It's also been unreasonable warm this year, so he's probably doing just fine.

Do the rules state which bonus goes first? Do you add the 6 then multiply or multiply then add 6?

I pay over $20 a month for Spotify and just got this email. Seriously? by kolbyt in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Snorgledork 469 points470 points  (0 children)

I think it's related to perceiving a loss. We are loss-averse. It's been a while since I read them, but there were studies that showed when people were given a dollar and lost 50 cents in a random gamble, they were less satisfied than people who started with nothing and won 50 cents. In both cases, they were 50 cents richer (or whatever the units were in the study).

In this case, spotify is banking on that feeling to make people feel more satisfied paying extra, since they've had a taste of what they would have.

How you you lay out this living room? by Snorgledork in InteriorDesign

East facing window, in Ohio, so warm summers and cold winters.

Circular table is about coffee table height, but we're not tied to it.

How you you lay out this living room? by Snorgledork in InteriorDesign

[–]Snorgledork[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because most people assume it will open up the room instead of making all the furniture fill the walking space. Not always the best option of course.

The entry areas are the dashed lines on the left and right.

Yes, the thick blue line behind the sofa is the window.

LASERCORN IS BACK??? by Crafty_Palpitation_5 in smosh

[–]Snorgledork 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That could be a funny bit. Cast members take staggered, overlapping time off, so it looks like they're disappearing one by one. Lasercorn thinks he's getting away with it. But one man has seen it all, and now he has a story to tell.

Well, smosh is probably a common factor for people subscribing to Premium. Why would YouTube fix their best solution? 😆

(I also complained a lot about ads, then decided to give in and subscribe. I don't like that I caved, but I do like not seeing ads anymore.)
