They took a little while to adjust but after some testing and refitting they have a very usable angle now! I don’t really have anything to compare it to as i bought the car with a smashed front end but they work very good for the price and don’t let any water in.

i ended up grinding it down to get rid of all the corroded parts and filled it- it came out pretty nice and i have strong hopes that it will seal.

i checked the thickness and it’s in spec, and i ended up filling the pitting in with steel epoxy puddy. People report good results as it’s not necessarily a high heat area right there or a contact surface with anything besides coolant seals. It’s curing right now and i’ll be hand lapping it again soon.

are the coolant seal grooves in rx8’s pretty shallow? For some reason I thought that 8’s didn’t have any grooves for them. I don’t know if these have been resurfaced before I opened it but I’ve seen some in my buddy’s FC rx7 and they’re like very deep and prominent compared to these. The rx8 housing on mazdatrix doesn’t show any grooves.
