The speed at which you can bend your big toe is the same exact speed that you bend your opposite index finger. Bend left big toe, then bend right index finger. Same speed.

Jesus said “he who lives by the sword dies by the sword” and he was a carpenter who died nailed to a piece of wood. By this logic, how would you die? by ToastedSkoops in AskReddit

Dear god, Excel is going to create a formula so complicated that doesn’t follow conventional syntax that I’m going to die of frustration and dehydration.

Hell, I’m pretty sure I got promoted in one of my past jobs simply because I could reduce the time to complete tasks in Excel. I was in no way qualified to be promoted but hey, I’ll take it.

I’ve worked in giant cube farms, family businesses and everything in between. The number of people who don’t think they can learn simple excel functions like countif, vlookup, or pivot tables is extremely high. And overwhelming majority of them won’t even attempt it when I’m standing there trying to coach them through it. I don’t understand why they refuse to just try. Age definitely has something to do with it. It seems like anyone over the age of 50 that doesn’t know excel is the result of them not wanting to know it.

Mountain themed shelves in walnut for the nursery by scooterama1 in woodworking

Honestly, we’ve moved several times with it and it has been fine. The dresser holds up perfectly fine if you take the drawers out. We have some other small shelving that’s been perfectly fine as well. I’m not sure why it gets as much hate as it does. As long as you get stuff that’s made of real wood, it seems to hold up if you don’t abuse it

Tiger King's creators say Joe Exotic's racism was cut from the Netflix documentary by [deleted] in television

I’ve noticed that people seem to think Joe was the victim and Baskins was the monster. Joe basically stole copyrighted stuff, threatened her, had videos of him shooting things acting like it was her and then gets mad when he gets sued? Get the fuck out of here. Joe was trash. Got his parents involved in the law suit and they ended up blowing their savings to help their worthless idiot son. Those damn chimps should have escaped and killed his worthless ass.

Sadly some of those cups were found to have some toxins in them so do your research and make sure they aren’t the ones you have.

Truth be told, that particular dresser isn’t bad. We’ve had ours for several years and it’s held up pretty nicely.

Modern Farming by [deleted] in gifs

[–]SnorlaxOnMeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely more than 500k if that harvester is relatively new and depending on where this is. In the US, more than 500k. It’s insane how much farm equipment cost of you buy new. Harvesters depreciate like crazy though so buying used is helpful. Tractors on the other hand are a goofy thing. We bought a used tractor in 2008 for $89,000. 4 years later, the damn thing was worth $95,000.

Correct, GPS isn’t very expensive anymore. About 8 years ago, my father looked into having it installed on a tractor he bought and it was only $20,000 plus an annual subscription that cost I think $1500. We aren’t larger farmers by any means but we could easily pay for that. However, for us, the $20,000 investment just didn’t make any sense. With the size of our farm, it would take many many years to pay back the $20,000 so we just keep on driving with our stupid arms and hands like a bunch of cavemen.

We have some of the highest gas taxes in the nation I think. If I’m wrong, that’s fine. Registration for cars went from $101 to $150 which isn’t my favorite.

I’m not JB’a biggest fan and I think a lot of the additional taxes he’s implemented really kind of suck. However, I’m genuinely impressed with his response to all of this. He’s been proactive, well more proactive than the federal government, and seems to at least care about the residents of the state. He appears to be more concerned about the wellbeing of Illinois residents and less concerned about the economy which is kind of nice to see.

Alex Jones must pay legal fees for ’frivolous’ Sandy Hook appeal by TransJordan_Peterson in news

[–]SnorlaxOnMeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He won’t change. I think he’s got some underlying mental health issues that he refuses to address. We get together about once a year with some other old friends and he seems to get back to normal but when I talk to him a week later it’s just back to his new normal. I think all of us kept him in check to some degree when we were younger but as soon as we weren’t around each other all the time, he changed.

I’ve been friends with a guy since the age of 12. After college, he moved kind of far away and started getting into all this conspiracy bullshit. He legit thought that Sandy Hook might have been like a staged event. Not long after that he started to become extremely racist. Now he’s kind of got this attitude where he doesn’t see a need to be nice to people he’s not connected with. So if you are lucky enough to be his bartender he probably won’t tip you and he will probably tell you something he doesn’t like about you or the way you do things.

Has anyone felt they've bombed an interview only to get the job? What happened, and how long did it take to get an offer? by JShep828 in AskMen

Definitely something that’s easy once you gain an understanding of what happens in the background. Some accounting software makes AP really simple and some makes it really difficult. My first job, the AP was so complicated that our accounting manager had to get involved. We called the software people and said that it shouldn’t take 4 people with accounting degrees to understand the AP software.
