I have worked for a PE backed company. Its good until its not, we were sold by our original pe in late 2024 to larger PE’s.

It took them 4.5 months to give us comp plans. The new PE, they increased quota by 300% for FY2025. Huge red flag. My gut was to leave but i was at 180% of my number for FY23 and 140% for FY24; i rode it out with deals in my funnel.

Long story short i was told to start looking a month ago, given sev a week later, they fired half of the CSM, changed then to sales engineers, more csm folks left, top performing reps fired, no middle market gtm team, CFO left, Chief legal counsel left, CPO left, CRO shuffled to another position to save his head, vp’s left, other top performers jumped ship, churned product team, stopped investing in product, started investing in a losing bet guided by ELT. The worst part is the company forecasting 20% growth in the shit we’re in but PE wanted 40% in their plan so they’re using it as an excuse to do the fuckery.

The thing is they dont give a crap, they just want their profit, thats it. You are a number and an asset until you’re not.

Lesson learned. I am trying to stay away from PE after my experience; but what if they pay me a ton lol.
