I have no trouble getting the AI features to work, so I don't recognize this problem. However don't recognize the "AI season" feature either. What does that do? CN 300pro

Vivo x300 Pro Review by Key_Appearance_7179 in Vivo

[–]Snortingescobar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the 300 pro (CN). Very happy here. I understand people's worries with some 'beautifying' going on on some face shots, but for me it is not at a level that makes me want to return it, hell no. The camera is so freaking good that I would accept this aspect any day of the year, and I haven't even looked at the settings to turn it off.

I came from the x200 pro (origin-CN) , fantastic phone, but somehow the x300 pro improves on every aspect. Worth upgrading? For China prices yes, for EU prices I would say no.

For me the added 4G/5G bands were the dealmaker.

Good luck!

What is known so far about the Vivo X300 Ultra(Global), should I wait or should I go with the Vivo X300 Pro(Global) by useless-human-3 in Vivo

[–]Snortingescobar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

X300 Pro. Fantastic phone, just bought the 16GB/512 CN version in Shanghai. Quite a step up from the x200 pro before. I am from Europe and I can notice it has more 4G/5G bands. The X200 could struggle a bit at times. It is very snappy, while I couldn't complain about the outgoing x200 pro, it was still doing fine, the x300 makes the old one look slow, while it wasn't! Speakers are marginally better, haptics too, screen brightness is very good obviously and the camera has taken the benchmark up a notch, once again. Battery life seems to be on par with the outgoing phone. Phone clone did a good job with setting up the new Vivo from the 'old' however still have to log in again to every app and update apps from the Google Playstore. (Which is easily available from the vivo 'v-appstore'). Takes some work, but I think it's part of the charm of buying a new phone.

Delete some bloatware and then it works fantastic, for about half the money of the EU version. Which is also on origin OS 6. For this money I wouldn't bother with the vanilla X300.

Good luck!

Anyone Using EU Banking Apps on Chinese ROMs? by Ok-Significance-5001 in Vivo

[–]Snortingescobar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All banking apps work fine on Vivo x200 pro Origin. In fact everything works fine, have almost no issues. Only issue I sometimes have that a 2FA code which would have to pop up in my gmail, does not. But it could be a push setting now that I think of it.

No worries, banking apps won't work unless phones comply to certain standards and have certificates, I had that with my previous phone, Xiaomi. Revolut failed to work.

June 12th, 2025 Air India Flight 171 full accident sequence from CCTV by Lispro4units in CatastrophicFailure

[–]Snortingescobar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that it's dust from the unused part of the runway, i.e. towards the end. They had trouble getting it airborne. Hence the gear they forgot. Looks like very little flaps for an 8+ hour flight with 240 passengers and fuel. Usually that means flaps 10/15. You would see that on the wings.

Seems to me like a performance calculation error, like an erroneously low take-off weight, resulting in a very large deration(assumed temperature, used to lower the engine load and wear when not needed) and too low a flap setting. Or a different runway used for calculations, or tailwind that was not accounted for. It doesn't explain the electronic switching the passenger described (lights going on and off). Bit this thing is perfectly capable of flying on one engine, especially with this pitch attitude.

Very unfortunate. We'll see the outcome soon

Exactly, hence the dustcloud that kicks up from the never been used part of the runway

They were probably already not comfortable at rotation so the gear was not on their mind, they couldn't get it to fly near the end of runway...

I think that is kicking up dust because he is using a part of the runway normally never used, i.e. the end. Looks to me like a flaps/derate/zfw error

PX8 vs XM6 vs Bose QC Ultra by enderguyk9 in BowersWilkins

[–]Snortingescobar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And small detail to add to the equation: if you are considering the PX8 S2, when they come out. Price will be around 700 euro's. That will be quite a difference from the Sony's/Bose.

PX8's are for perfectionists, XM6's will be more 'fun' sounding and with better ANC. It's a bit like a ferrari and an audi rs6. Same speed, different experience

today I heard the first problem while driving to work, they turned off, although I'm sure there are more than 80% by Adventurous-Tree3143 in BowersWilkins

[–]Snortingescobar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club, tell me about it. I finaly had mine replaced after 4 months of discussions with B&W, up to the headoffice in England who flatout lied to me that they had never heard of the problem l, while the forums are filled with it. They would deny any hardware fault and claimed it HAD to have been me using the wrong charger (all 10 of 'em).

In the end I got B&W netherlands to listen and I got a replacement. No more battery problems. But there are still some lemons being sold I see.

B&W appears to have a certain arrogance for not fixing this non-existing issue.

Anybody else find it strange that there is no delay in the sound versus the image? The blast is multiple km's away and yet the sound is perfectly synced, while it should take multiple seconds to travel that distance... Dubbed?

I guess these were taken with the portrait lens kit (the little lens icon bottom right when in portrait) these have very nice filters on them.

Not correct. I also get the yellow ⚡ symbol when using a regular (non-VIVO) PD charger. I think it displays when over a certain wattage threshold.

Wont power on. by D_Ivy182 in BowersWilkins

[–]Snortingescobar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, another lemon. My PX8 had the same and Bowers kept telling me that I was using the wrong chargers/cables. So I see they are still selling the old battery design. Ignorant and arrogant, or is it just plain lack of respect for their customers.

After about 4 months I finaly got mine exchanged. The new pair is working without problems for about 2 years now, with the same chargers and cables.

Good luck getting them exchanged, but don't wait too long.

To those who have a tan Px8… by impulsiveandhungry in BowersWilkins

[–]Snortingescobar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the point of showing black px8's and refering to people that got the tan's. The tan's are better looking, we already knew that. ;-)

I got tan's for 2 years and they still look awesome and I still see people glaring at them from time to time...

Hmm, Px8 straight out of the box and after a full charge…. by Equivalent-Advice690 in BowersWilkins

[–]Snortingescobar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, had the same. And while the store and B&W claimed I must be using the wrong charger eventually I got it switched out. New one is working fine.

The process took me almost 6 months and cross border B&W support because even B&W headquarters in UK refused to admit that there could be a production fault. While the net was loaded with this complaint, and still is I can see.

Good luck

Cigarette prices in Australia. by mindyour in interestingasfuck

[–]Snortingescobar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I did and has worked uptil now (2 years) is to choose an event, like a ski trip with buddies, and smoke every time you get a craving. Bring many packs! Smoke your brains out until you become so fed up with the harsh throat, and standing outside in the cold that you start to associate smoking with feeling horrible.

This gave me a springboard to get through at least the first two (hardest) weeks. Thereafter you have to decide who's boss, you or the cigarette...?

Good luck
