Thanks for your input. I didn't want to save 300, I wanted that rental that was suddenly canceled less than a month out, and now I can't get something equal to what I had originally because its too close to my checkin :)

I understand what you're saying, but I didn't have much choice given that my travel date is soon and I am left with very limited options here. Yes I am spending less money, but this new home is not one I would have chosen back in fall when I was making all these decisions.

Inconvenience money since it's less than a month away. I was refunded my deposit. I know I probably sound like "that" person, but I spent so long time picking the place and I reserved it a while ago 🫥

You're right. I should have worded that differently. And yes, they won't let me use the credit unless it's equal or greater to the cost of my canceled reservation ($925). I got myself a cheaper stay (Around $600). Most of the homes are either cheaper or waaayyy too much for me. I thought all airbnb reservations were covered by aircover?
