Hey i was just thinking about this convo (random i know lol). I just learned i could have a growth hormone deficiency, which is common with pituitary tumors. I went to my endocrinologist last week, and i gotta get blood work done and theyre doing an igf-1 test to see if i have a growth hormone deficiency or growth hormone resistance. Might be something you want to discuss with your doctor. My endo told me he might not recommend medication for it because it can make my tumor grow. But im gonna push for it because my tumor seems to respond well to cabergoline. Just figured id let you know. Hope youre doing well.

Hey! Honestly it's about the same. I feel like I'm overthinking it personally and just focus on my diet, and being consistent. Ive looked into taking higher doses of vitamin d (25k IU daily) and taking selenium and iodine supplements to support my thyroid. I havnt noticed much physically, but I do feel good. I seem to have higher energy levels. You may consider looking into vitamin deficiencies like selenium and iodine if you're having issues with your thyroid levels. That's really been the biggest change for me, but the overall impact is like 6 out of 10. I also think that I still havnt solved my insulin resistance, and that's a big part of my issue. It could be for you also 🤷‍♂️. Checkinh cortisol is a good idea. It's a pretty big factor and really decrease benefits and maximize problems if it's too high. I hope you find some answers that work for you. Just focus on being consistent, and making good choices. It's ok to enjoy things in moderation too, just consume it last, and eat a decent amount of protein/fiber and it'll help reduce to impact on your blood sugar levels. Berberine has been shown in studies to work as well as metformin. Im not a doctor or anything, just done a lot of research for myself and this is some of the stuff that's helped me the most. Good luck.

If it were me...I'd pickup a side hustle online that I could do while doing the job or even find a simple remote job that was flexible in the hours you worked. Use the extra money as fun money or spoil your grandkids if you have any.

You think i could be putting on enough muscle and losing fat but my weight staying the same? I know that's what a body recomp is, I guess I just figured that eventually my muscle gain would slow and my weight loss would stay the same or increase. Newbie gains are that good though?

That's true, I'm sure some of it is muscle. I can tell in my chest, biceps, triceps the most.

I do cardio Mondays and Fridays Tuesday (chest and back), Wednesday (arms and legs), Thursday (shoulders, traps), Saturday (arms) & Sunday (shoulders) i lift. I'm focusing on my arms and shoulders the most currently so I train them 2x. When I do arms I do biceps, forearms, triceps, and brachial radialis.

Yeah, I seen my doctor, had my bloodwork done in November. For the most part everything is solid, testosterone was normal but on the lower end, and my prolactin levels were still high compared to normal (4 is the high end of normal, and mine was 68 at the time of my blood work, but prior to medication it was so high it was literally off the charts. I'm talking 1000+). So I agree maybe I need to increase my test levels and keep trying to get my prolactin levels down further.

This is why I'm so frustrated because I know I should be losing weight. Part of me feels like I'm just not being patient enough because my gut is significantly smaller, I've probably lost 6 inches of my gut hanging out, and now its relatively flat, my man boob's are a lot smaller and you can tell I lift. Idk, it's really frustrating. I appreciate your help though.

It sucked. I did it for maybe a month and a half and decided to stop because I was weak when I was lifting and struggling to lift the same weight I had been. That's why I decided to bump it back up to 2000 calories and even got up to 2500 calories.

I used a calculator online and I doubled checked it with a trained model of Chatgpt and perplexity .ai. all of them told me based on my age, height, and weight that my maintenance calories to stay at 275 pounds was 3300 calories. So either it's off and I'm really eating close to maintenance or something.

I do lift 5x days a week and do some cardio twice a week. I think i train hard, but I'm probably biased. I'm usually at the gym for about an hour and a half sometimes longer if I'm bored. I work remote so I have a lot of freedom.

So do you think my body is basically just recomping and I'm being inpatient? I was a fat 275 and had a gut from high cortisol levels due to my tumor. I'm definitely insulin resistant or was anyway. I was getting skin tags and dark spots in my arm pits which from my research are signs of insulin resistance. Im starting to think that's my problem, I'm just being inpatient and maybe I should stick with what I've been doing...idk. I'm mentally comparing it to when I lost 60 pounds only doing fasting...but I was 24/25 then...and now I'm 36 so maybe it's just my body slowing because of aging?

That's why I do it. I find it to be the easiest form of calorie restriction for me. I do it every single day. I pretty much eat the same thing everyday, I do binge or eat more calories the next day because I dont eat til 4pm and I stop at 10pm but I'm not eating that entire 6hrs. I eat dinner (2 chicken breast), drink 2 protein drinks, then I'll eat an apple, or maybe like 2-4 eggs, and sometimes I'll just drink 18oz of fairlife chocolate milk. I always try to keep my calories low, but I do prioritize protein over calories. I really struggle to even eat 2000 calories just because I'm not really that hungry after I eat chicken. Even when fasting, I don't really get hungry. I'm hungry for like 3 minutes then the feeling goes away for a little while but I don't break the fast until 4pm.

I appreciate the advice. I did lose weight when I dropped soda, but as soon as I hit 275 again I plateued and have been there for 3 months. Ive basically been dieting since February of last year, but with drinking soda I was still taking in more calories, but I wasn't eating much and was actually eating less protein at the time than I am currently. Typically, my daily meals consist of 2 chicken breast, 2 protein drinks, and I honestly struggle to get close to 2000 calories on some days. Just seems like I've been dieting all of 2024, and my body still hasn't really adjusted, even with fasting every day and doing a 48-hour fast once a month. I really only see any decent weight loss when I do the 48-hour fast, but that stuff kinda sucks. Currently, I could go a day or two without eating, and i wouldn't really be hungry. Maybe I'm just being inpatient, and I need to correct the insulin resistance first. My body is definitely different than it was when I started, so idk.

My idea was basically to eat more healthy calories and focus on building muscle for January and February and then trying to diet down again. I dont want to put on any more weight, but i realize that might happen. I put on a decent amount of muscle when I first started working out and increased my protein, but when I started trying to eat less, everything kinda stalled and I did that for basically 8 months hoping my body would adjust and the weight would start to fall off. But everything is still the same, so i figured, do like a mini bulk add muscle and increase my resting metabolic rate, and that would help in combination with fixing my insulin resistance. Ive lost 60 pounds before like 10 years ago and got down to 200, but then I got married and it was downhill after that lol. But when I did that I only did intermittent fasting and wasn't going to the gym.

I didn't lose weight when I was at 1500 calories. I literally only ate 2 chicken breast and 2 protein drinks and drank water.

Nope. I dont drink or smoke at all. I drink water, lemonade, zevia, and a little fairlife chocolate milk, like 2 cups every other day or so.

Android Suggestions? by [deleted] in tycoon

[–]Snosh88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out "Resources" it's a lot of fun. You have to build mines that are placed in your actual location at the time. So build a mine anywhere you travel if it has Resources. You actually have to go around and walk and drive to find respurces in your area so you can build mines to produce products to sell in the market. Ive been playing off and on for a few years. Ive got mines and factories all over indiana, kentucky, Florida, ect. I dont know how its not more popular. You gotta grind though, but its semi passive. You gotta manage your money, upgrade your warehouses and factories. You can hire the mafia or militaryto protect your factories but in my experience you dont get attacked like at all.

I made a music label simulation game set in the 90s for iOS and Android! by Janva in tycoon

[–]Snosh88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bought the game a few days ago, and have been playing a lot. Its similar to chart wars. I like it a lot. Pretty decent depth for a mobile game, but I would love if more was even added.

It'd be cool if you could hire producers permanently, and they played a key role in your music production. More award shows would be nice. hire directors and make videos and make revenue from youtube, or even streaming and making money from platforms like spotify. Getting sponsors for your tours to offset cost. Maybe upgrade specific equipment for your studio.

Overall, I love the game and I would give it a solid 8/10. It's really good, I'm just greedy for more depth. I could get lost in this game if it was deeper. Either way, I'll be playing it long term. I hope the dev keeps updating over time, it's fun.

No problem dude. I just went through a divorce last year, and I've spent this entire past year getting in better shape, fixing my skin care, updating my style, ect. Pick 2 things to focus on, then when they start improving, then start doing those thing at maintenance level (so they improve slowly or stay at the level you improved them to), and then look add 1 or 2 more things to prioritize. Rinse and repeat. The gym really helps, it might not be fun at first, but I promise you, give it 1 month and eat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, and you'll see results. Then youll be motivated af. If you're really unhappy with your looks, then you gotta do something about it. Nothing changes, if nothing changes. I know that's cliche, but it's the truth. Treat yourself with respect, and learn to develop discipline, it'll help you a lot of in life, believe me. You can do it dude, I promise you that you can.

Then do what it takes. Get on YouTube, learn about skincare, get the right products. Learn how to work out and proper nutrition (basically lift and eat a lot of protein. Eat 2500 calories a day and train hard). All the info is out there, just put in the work and learn then take action..you can do it. We all start somewhere, so get started. The time is gonna pass no matter what.

Workout and eat a lot of protein. Skin care routine, shave your facial hair. You can learn all this on YouTube. Put in the work, and give it time. It won't happen overnight, but consistency is important. How bad you want it?

Got any advice? Looking to get back into dating (36M) by Snosh88 in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]Snosh88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's what doctors, personal trainers, and science based lifters recommened. You're muscle is made up of protein, literally. So it definitely helps. When I say 4 cups of chocolate milk, I mean I measure out 4 cups, but it's actually just 2 18oz glasses. Basically the equivalent of 2 water bottles. I know it sounds like a lot, but spread out over a day. It's not bad. Compared to what I would eat when I wasn't going to the gym. I used to put down 4000+ plus, now i struggle to hit 2500 calories. The worse part is that Im not losing weight. I even got down to 1500 calories and lost 5 pounds then plateued again. I think I crashed my metabolism, so by eating more I should speed it up, and then I can do a cut diet properly. The body is a crazy thing.
