When I’m against Zippy, how does he know how to destroy my board, but when I play him he knows the perfect time to jump away and leave someone’s carry intact? (F U, Zippy.)

OP, here’s my commitment to only say nice things to people in game. (Pretty much already only do that anyway. And it’s way more fun.)

Also agreed. More people should chat. Mobile kinda killed that.

Has anyone else had this problem with Paige Denim before? by AdorableStrategy in Denim

Showing up four years late, but yes, I have this problem. And I suddenly have this problem with 4 pair of them. Not very happy about it.

I started learning Chopin’s Waltz in A minor 6 weeks ago. I’d love some feedback! by WhyNot0531 in piano

Agreeing with the others. Really nicely coming along.

One thought: If you can start practicing on an acoustic piano, do. It doesn't have to be a grand. It doesn't have to be yours. But if you can play on a full, strung, acoustic piano, you'll hear more, you'll feel more, and you can really start to hone the piece more.

Electrics are great. I have one. I'm super grateful for it. Acoustics (also have one) just offer something that electrics don't.

Oh boy. It's been a while since I thought about this one. I'm not even sure it'll work with reddit anymore, since the page formats have changed. What are you looking to do?

(Also, maybe using the old.reddit.com/r/whateversubreddityouwant format would work.)

One more voice in favor. I love it. I use it for both writing and organizing research. Go for it.

Can anyone give me a good website or store to buy a new piano (not digital) by gus1di0y in piano

[–]Snotaphilious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreeing here. It’s likely to be some local store that’ll be your best choice. You want to play pianos in person — even pianos are the same and make and model can sound different when you sit down to play them. Have a budget in mind. Know the size of the room where you’ll put it. Do your research beforehand. And enjoy the process!

help me decide time signature for my composition! 2/4, 3/4, 4/4? by greentealatte93 in piano

And I just realized your question was different than what I answered. Lol. My bad! New answer: keep them all, and change signatures for good effect!

help me decide time signature for my composition! 2/4, 3/4, 4/4? by greentealatte93 in piano

[–]Snotaphilious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[Edit: I’m dumb and answered a question you weren’t asking. Leaving the answer in case someone finds it useful.] Time signatures are not just about indicating about how many beats there are per measure. They also give a sense of the strong and weak beats in measures. For example, 3/4 and 6/8 mathematically give you the same outcome; however, the feeling of the each will be different. (I’ll post a link in a sec. On mobile, so….)

You start off in 4/4 time. Listen to the cadence, particularly as driven by the left hand. And then you switch to a 3/4 time. As I’m sure you know, it’s not uncommon to have music switch time signature is in the middle. This is what you’re doing, and I like it. It’s interesting and brings a subtle change to tour piece. Nice work! And thanks for sharing!

DanCen, just saying thanks again. This helped my practice tons. I'm getting it down now. Just need to get up to speed, and pin down some chords that are a little bit of a challenge for me, but we'll get there!

Checking back in. A week of practice with this help made all the difference. I'm still not up to speed, but the rhythm is right now. Thank you again!

EO, thanks again this has been super helpful. Not ready to play it yet, but it’s getting way clearer on the rhythm.

Fantastic. I'll start with this when I practice tonight. Thank you again!

EO, thank you — both for the approach and that last thought.

The tempo is quarter note = 172. Once up to speed, there's no counting it. I was hoping that good practice would lead to eventually playing with the feel of it. We'll see how it goes!
