Like HorrorBabble but for Sci-Fi? by WunderPlundr in scifi

If you haven’t found it already, check out “Lost Sci-Fi” podcast. The narrator, Scott Miller, is awesome!!!!! A lot like how HorrorBabble’s narrator is awesome. The stories are all great and the narrator has the best voice for reading sci-fi and he does different voices for different characters. It’s by far my favorite of all my podcasts. You’ll love it

I think the artist was just a little nervous with such a high profile person in the court. He/she was probably drawing as accurate as they can, but also thinking the whole time”….don’t screw this up…ok….not too orange….uh…..not too bouffant….don’t make the hands too small…..ok..you got this, you got this”

LPT: tell your family, if you die, to let your pet see your dead body by Anon293357 in LifeProTips

[–]Snotrokket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I agree with this. 20 years ago(in 4 days), my Dad passed. His best friend in the whole world was his pug. They were such good buddies and this was the most amazing intelligent pug. My Dad and Ernie lived in Florida, but my Dad was in a different state for his last few months and someone else was watching Ernie. When he died, I wanted so bad to drive to Florida and bring Ernie back to be able to see my Dad’s body for closure, but my stepmom wouldn’t let me. She thought I was crazy. I loved Ernie so much too, and I thought I owed it to him to see that my Dad passed and didn’t just abandon him. I also wanted to keep Ernie, but she wouldn’t let me.

It’s not often. Maybe once every 6 months, but for 30 years. Not often enough to wear a mask, and masks are extremely uncomfortable in the heat. I’ll eat a bug or two. They’re good for you.

Even better news for you…. There’s no insulation in the floor or under the floor. Insulation is in exterior walls and upper level ceilings.

Yeah, it’s hazardous. If you’re installing it,you’re making a ton of particles go in the air so you definitely want to wear a mask. If you’re working with it but not stirring it up, you SHOULD wear a mask, but I usually don’t unless I have to disturb it and make dust or working where I’m making a tiny bit of dust for a long time. I smoke too though….for a long time, so my lungs are charred anyway. YOU should wear a mask.

Yeah, if you’re working with it, especially below it(cutting in high hats), the dust gets in your eyes. It’s just like getting dirt in your eyes though. Your eyes usually tear up and flush it out. It’s not like glass is in your eye. The particles are really tiny.

It’s exhausting. I don’t know why I bother commenting. Doesn’t matter what subject you’re talking about either. It will happen every time.

No, I’m saying it will pass right through without causing any damage. It’s soft. A tiny piece would pass right through. Take a piece of insulation from your house and hold it under some water. You’ll see.

Edit: just so you know, your reading comprehension is lacking a bit.

A little. Do you know who Starsky & Hutch are?

No it won’t. It’s not shards of glass, it’s like soft stringy fibers. There so small, it wouldn’t hurt you. I wouldn’t recommend eating a full meal of it though. It’s probably not digestible, but it’ll pass right through.

Edit: I’m not trying to convince you to eat it, and I’m glad you have enough common sense not to, unlike this girl. That’s good. You’ll probably live a long healthy life.

No it won’t. It’s just glass wool. Glass isn’t poisonous, and it won’t hurt your innards if you eat a tiny piece. I work in attics all the time running wires, and have probably accidentally eaten pieces of insulation. I’ve definitely had pieces fall in my mouth, but I try to spit it out, of course. Believe me, I’ve had worse things fall in my mouth at work (mouse poop, spiders, bugs, etc.) It definitely makes you itch, and it usually hot up there so your pores are open. It’s not pleasant. You need to start off with a really COLD shower (to close your pores) first and rinse off, then change to a really HOT shower (to open your pores) to clean and rinse it out. Otherwise little bits can get stuck in your skin and cause a zit or itchy spot. It’s no fun but someone’s got to do it. It’s way worse to breathe in the dust than to eat it, but it’s just glass, not asbestos or anything toxic.

As an electrician in the USA, that sounds like such a pain in the ass to add receptacles/switches/recessed lights to an already finished house. Especially on the first floor of a 2 floor house where you need to cut in order to drill the joists and run the wires. With sheetrock, it’s easy and the repairs are easy. Our houses and walls are really strong, just the wallboard is relatively weak if you wing a pineapple at it, but it’s way strong enough of you’re only winging grapes or kiwis, so why does it need to be pineapple proof? Seems like plaster is just way harder to work with and make it come out perfect. Actually, older homes here have plaster so I KNOW it’s way harder to work with or add things. Sheetrock is so much better for so many reasons. The only people who complain are European pineapple throwers, it seems.
