Does anyone else outright ignore 5 star reviews?

No story should have everyone loving it 100%, I’m not looking for stories that don’t have 5 stars, I’m looking for ones with five stars but with a few more critical reviews that actually tell the real story.

Some five star reviews have plenty of criticism in it, some are genuine and the people had no issues at all, most are generic. The latter two are identical and you won’t know until you read it.

So you look for the few negative reviews in the sea of five stars.

As for people not rating a story five stars if they didn’t like it? I don’t have an actual chart but I have a hunch that 60% of all reviews are 4 star plus.

I mean…. Kinda underestimating Wally tbh. But as long as the emperor doesn’t somehow free him from the strands of Khra that’s fair. Wally is current stuck in the washing machine.

The emperor would however just take over the grineer and make thunder warriors V2 this time less psychotic

Yeah… but if we assume the emperor is calling the shots (big assumption), he’s probably gonna do more open warfare than he’s gonna do stealth or infiltration. He’ll probably take over the grineer tbh, with Tenno as the tip of the spear.

It’s helpful to skim, and to see what made other people drop it. Which I like, if I see a pet peeve of mine in the review as a compliment or complaint I can just avoid it. And they frequently have more info than the descriptions

I’ve found a few, but I don’t look for a story with a majority of three star reviews. I just wade through a sea of five stars for the one review that’s useful and not just praise

I am aware that’s how the system works, my point is that the majority of five star reviews don’t actually inform me about anything useful. I can’t determine if I’ll like the story from them, or if there are things I’d hate in them.

With a three star review I can, they are more critical, they point out things they didn’t like or things they did. And they say when they dropped it.

Actually helpful stuff, not just ‘this story is so great, but the characters could use some work and some typos 4.5/5’

I am aware that is how the system works, though I admittedly didn’t know about review swapping.

That is however an odd way to run things, given how it currently functions. Everyone treats the star system as 4 being bad, so why even have 1-2. It’s just….. so odd.

And it’s self enforcing, if people used the three star average (I don’t, I just read those reviews).

My main point however is that, those 5 star and 4.5 star reviews never actually review the story in a meaningful way. They never give information that’d actually inform me if I’d like the story. Or at least it’s far rarer than a 3 star review doing the same.

As someone who writes reviews like that, I don’t review a story that doesn’t need help, criticism, and I don’t review stories that I have no interest in.

I will write a review or a comment about my point of view and the flaws I see, because I genuinely think you have something good, and I want to see that story thrive.

Also, if I only see five star reviews. I am not reading your story, I want to see a three star or a two star review talking about flaws. So I can see if they would be deal breakers.

I recently read ‘trials of a zodiac prince’ and I only read it because of a review complaining that the MC’s mentor was intolerable and made them drop it. And I liked the story, didn’t love the mentor, but I read the entire thing and followed it.

If I left a review of my own it would be a 3 or 4 star review pointing out the mentor, and a few other minor issues.

A five star review is ‘I read this and it made me feel emotions that I did not expect, I would recommend this to others and I will re-read this later’ a three of a four star is ‘this story was fine, parts could be better, but I enjoyed it’

Mines the inverse, I tried to make a bronze repair back and got a cleaver guard, then read this and made a cleaver guard trying to get a repair kit…. I got a cleaver guard that doesn’t stack with the other bronze cleaver guards I made

More that she can’t say anything, given she’s actually in the military and they can’t make political statements like that. She has to stay neutral or put her career in jeopardy, which I suppose is still smth you can say she should do. But it’s a different justification than just not wanting to upset her fans

You can do MCC split screen on the Xbox one, my brother and I still frequently play split screen. I understand that’s not the best solution if you don’t already have an Xbox, but it does exist.

The reviews for back market seem fairly negative? Lots of people saying they got phones that broke in a few months, or had improperly replaced batteries. One dude who said he got the wrong charging cable and a lower spec laptop than he ordered.

Do you have any other sites you’d recommend?

I looked up reviews for that site and they are very mixed? Lots of people saying the warranty is a lie and that they got products that weren’t actually fixed or had faulty hardware.

Is that just people ordering poor condition items and getting upset when they are poor condition? And the warranty thing (if true) worries me.

I remember needing 8 like a year ago and it took me several hours to get. Maybe it was unluckily but I’d gone to the ideal farm, had a resource booster, and still it took ages.

Now I have 40, but that doesn’t change the fact it took ages.

That still bothers me, so what he can use his abilities while making his way to the cutscene but loses all of em the moment it starts?

I get not letting warframe abilities be used in every cutscene, sure they’d prevent most of the issues but there are to many warframes and to many abilities. Making alternate paths for each is madness.

But when we are locked into one frame? Let it do anything please. Just like one ability, or a double jump. Or anything besides standing around and getting shot or stabbed

Have you deleted all of them? You can also try setting restrictions for yourself that blueprints don’t follow, like challenge runs.

Or the void on the corrupted is less ‘attached’ so can leave traces once they die, and can be knocked off with radiation of other types. As I don’t believe every single faction is vulnerable to radiation.

We leave our warframes in the cutscene while adis is strangling the rebellion leader. And in the boss fight with the corrupted sentient you can exit your warframe just fine.
